The Senior Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining operational systems at multiple private residences and ranches across Texas. This role involves overseeing both commercial and residential systems, ensuring timely repairs, installations, and maintenance, as well as sourcing and supervising trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage maintenance programs and schedules for multiple properties, systems, and trades.
- Review and interpret system data, blueprints, and reports to assess current capabilities, performance requirements, and equipment life cycles.
- Maintain detailed documentation of facility and equipment specifications, operational performance, and maintenance history.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including staffing, maintenance, equipment inventory, and capital expenditures.
- Coordinate infrastructure expansions and upgrades, evaluating designs and performance requirements.
- Evaluate and improve operational efficiencies across various systems and facilities.
- Perform and oversee repairs and installations of fixtures, appliances, and equipment to ensure quality workmanship.
- Expertise in commercial and high-end residential systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware, masonry, water features, waste management, and home automation/lighting systems.
- Be available to respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational/trade school certification is essential. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in roles such as Facilities Manager, Construction Manager, or Facilities Engineer. Experience with estate or property management is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, heating, and electrical systems.
- Experience with both commercial and high-end residential construction.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality practices.
- Hands on experience in installing and repairing appliances.
- Knowledge of high-end finishes and materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Physical Requirements: The role requires regular movement across various properties, including standing, walking, sitting, and frequent use of hands and arms. The position also involves climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Protective gear, such as eye protection and safety shoes, may be required. The ability to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds is also necessary. This position involves extensive travel (up to 75%), mostly by driving, and may require long periods of continuous physical activity.
Work Environment: This position involves working in diverse environments, including outdoor ranch settings, often in varying weather conditions.
Travel: Frequent travel is required, up to 75% of the time, primarily by car.
