Single CEO is seeking a full-time caregiver for his special needs adult son, as well as home help for his busy social and business lifestyle. This role will be based north of Atlanta Metropolitan area and will join a team of one or two home caregivers and report to an Estate Manager. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years nannying and special needs experience. The candidate will be a team player, will have a keen sense of discretion and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Caregiver Responsibilities
Provide care to a special needs adult in a nurturing and loving manner which fosters feelings of confidence, security, while engaging in learning and skill development to promote independense and a sense of self-worth. Duties might include:
- Administer medicine
- Plan, provide and participate in appropriate fun & educational learning/developmental activities
- Maintain a daily routine and encourage participation in self care
- Prepare meals
- Tend to daily personal hygiene, including potty, bath time etc.
- Travel domestically and internationally, as requested
- Plan extracurricular activities such as: hiking, sports, play dates, museums/art
- Encourage involvement in cooking, home chores and special projects
- Always use positive reinforcement to reward, promote and encourage good behavior and manners
Family & Household Duties
Be productive during caregiver lulls (eg. independent play, naptime and school attendance) tending to other household needs including such things as:
- Household errands (grocery, vet, etc)
- Household organization, light cleaning and tidying daily
- Laundry
- Indoor plant/flower care
- Clothing wardrobe, organization and closet maintenance
- Making beds and bedroom/bathroom resupply for residents and guests
- Online ordering and returns
Culinary / Entertainment:
Assist in the preparation for and support of household meals and CEO's personal entertainment including:
- Prepare dinner for family
- Inventory and restocking as needed (coolers, pantry, refrigerator, firewood)
- Clean up the kitchen, food prep cooking and eating areas after meal preparation and dining
- Assist with functions at the residence or for family trip
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTER TRAITS
Experience with special needs adults
CPR & First Aid
Experience assisting with functions and events
Ability to follow and maintain detailed care records
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Monday.com preferred
Ability to work on a team and fulfill employer needs seamlessly across shift changes
Mentality of respect, kindness and adaptability
Discretion is a must (candidate will be required to sign a Non-disclosure agreement)
Ability to travel with the family occasionally
Flexibility regarding emergencies and unexpected changes
Teaching experience a plus
Clean MVR
Clean background report
Clean drug test result
Valid driver's license
Candidate must have dependable transportation
