Job Title: Butler Assistant

Location: New York, NY (Local candidates only)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Live-Out

Compensation: 90k yearly and flexible, based on experience

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Butler Assistant to support the House Manager/Butler in running a private household and delivering exceptional service to the principal and their family. The ideal candidate is discreet, proactive, and polished, with previous experience in private homes and, ideally, formal Butler training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the House Manager in overseeing day-to-day household operations
• Manage wardrobe care including steaming, ironing, organizing, packing and unpacking
• Maintain household inventory, supplies, and product data
• Collaborate with the chef and house staff to support regular meals, dinner parties, and special events
• Understand table service, formal settings, and assist with food and drink service
• Prepare and serve cocktails; strong wine knowledge is a plus
• Run errands and manage local driving for the principal (valid driver’s license required)
• Interact appropriately with family members, including grandchildren, with warmth and professionalism
• Work closely with the housekeeper to ensure smooth household function
• Be flexible and available for extended hours and weekend needs when required
• Respect boundaries while remaining approachable, attentive, and kind
• Listen and respond to feedback proactively and professionally
• Occasional travel readiness a plus, though not required.
• Confortable with carying heavy boxes.
• Asisst with luggage when traveling. 

Qualifications:

• Experience in a similar role in a private household
• Butler training or school preferred
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and anticipate needs
• Professional demeanor with a warm and pleasant personality
• Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to accommodate changing needs
• Local to New York City area.
