PRIVATE DRIVER / SECURITY FOR UHNW CLIENT IN THE BAY AREA
We seek a dedicated Private Driver specializing in providing exemplary transportation services to our UHNW clients in the Bay Area. Your primary job will be to ensure that our clients experience safe, comfortable, and efficient travel to various destinations with meticulous attention to detail and care. In addition to driving, your responsibilities will also include security, emphasizing personal protective services to guarantee the safety and well-being of the clients at all times. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Drive principals to and from general destinations, appointments, meetings, secondary residences, and airports
- Drive principal’s guests from general destinations and airports as directed
- Maintain the vehicles for guest readiness at all times in appearance and ready to drive without issue. Check engine fluids, maintain tire pressure and keep fuel levels at adequate level, and perform or hire a service to wash and interior detail vehicles
- Care of vehicles- schedule maintenance make service appointments, facilitate mechanical work as needed, secure substitute vehicles as needed to meet calendar obligations when vehicle is not available
- Logistic duties include advance consultation of maps or navigation devices for desired routes before departure, advising the employer or passengers of potential /existing adverse conditions, and suggesting alternative routes or travel times as needed.
- Safe and legal driving practices are expected at all times, as well as adhering to all state and federal driving laws and rules set by the principal
- Follow instructions and requests without complaint or comment and do not engage or join in conversations of employers or passengers without permission
- Responsible for keeping written travel logs containing mileage, locations, travel time, work hours, vehicle service entries, and receipts
- Basic protection services as a bodyguard
- Accompany principal to appointments, events, and daily activities
- Lead advance work and preparation ahead of travel, including coordination with the local support team if needed
- Make real-time decisions and adjustments to any predetermined plan, route, or schedule based on risk assessment and surveying of surroundings
- Effectively interface with Employer on tactical questions regarding the security detail
- Develop relationships with domestic and international law enforcement and government agencies to help facilitate travel security
- Conduct threat assessments that may escalate to violence, including public demonstrations, etc., and maneuver out of dangerous situations
- Any additional tasks as needed and upon request
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Defensive Driving Theory
- Protective/Evasive Driving Techniques
- Surveillance Detection Tactics and Techniques
- Protective Firearms and Defensive Tactics Training
- First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification (EMT is a plus)
- Protective Medical Training
- Stop the Bleeding Training
- Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Training
- Proven experience as a Driver
- A valid unrestricted driver’s license
- A clean driving record
- Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
- Familiarity with GPS devices
- Knowledge of Bay Area roads and neighborhoods
- Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
- Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts
- A polite and professional disposition
- Ability to remain calm, rational behavior, and attitude under stressful driving situations (e.g. rush hour)
- A high school diploma
- Experience as a chauffeur or driver for a private family is a plus
Location: Bay Area, CA (local candidates please, or those willing to relocate themselves only)
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: DOE based on experience
Employment is contingent upon satisfactorily passing a full background check and reference check
