Join a prominent family of four in Austin, Texas, as their Lead Nanny and play a pivotal role in creating a professional, structured, and seamless nanny team environment. This dynamic position involves overseeing and organizing a team of nannies, ensuring top-tier care for two active children while fostering an environment of growth, structure, and teamwork.
The Role
The Lead Nanny will not only provide exceptional hands-on care but also take charge of professionalizing and streamlining the existing nanny team. With a focus on structure and process improvement, you will implement new routines, establish clear boundaries, and help foster a culture of professionalism. A background in education is highly preferred, as is experience with team management and strong organizational skills.
This position includes a combination of childcare, household organization, and administrative responsibilities. From homework help and scheduling to creating task lists and coordinating team operations, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring the household runs smoothly.
Please Note: While the family prefers a local Austin candidate, they are open to relocating an exceptional individual for this role.
Schedule
- 3 long days (6am–8pm) and 2 short days (2pm–8pm) each week, with flexibility to shift in the summer months.
- The family is flexible with the schedule and open to finding an arrangement that works best for everyone involved.
- Flexibility to accommodate family needs, particularly during travel or seasonal schedules.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care, including morning and evening routines (getting the children ready for school, helping with dinner, bath, and bedtime).
- Oversee and guide the nanny team, ensuring high standards of professionalism, scheduling efficiency, and task delegation.
- Create and implement structure and processes to optimize the team’s performance.
- Assist with homework and tutoring coordination.
- Tidy and organize children’s areas, including managing their laundry and belongings.
- Take on light administrative tasks, such as filling scheduling gaps, coordinating family trips, and managing sports and personal calendars.
- Travel with the family (3-5 weeks per year) to provide seamless childcare support. Two nannies will travel on each trip.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5+ years as a professional, career nanny.
- Warm, nurturing, and highly organized with a strong educational or formal training background.
- Minimum of a four-year college degree.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a childcare team is preferred but not required.
- Professionally committed to the role, with the ability to establish and maintain boundaries.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable assisting with light household tasks and administrative work.
- Local to Austin or open to relocating for the right opportunity.
Compensation:
- Up to $55+ per hour | depending on experience.
