Job Summary:

This position will handle all transportation and maintain a safe and secure environment for the Principals, family members, and staff.   

Schedule: The schedule will fluctuate greatly.  Will be a split position to be able to maintain reasonable time off for the Employee while not affecting the coverage of the Principals. Much of this time may be “on-call” and can be remote but Employee must be able to be ready to work on-site at the Residence within one (1) hour and/or get on a flight within two (2) hours.  Therefore, you must live within a 30-45 minutes from 78730.

  • A 24/7 mentality to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Driver

  • Travel with the Principals and others as assigned.  This may include advancing locations to ensure safety checks and gaining familiarity (example: the family is traveling to Florida for Spring Break; this position would go a day in advance to secure the vehicle to be used and acclimate to the area in order to be prepared for the family’s arrival while the counterpart remains on the ground with the family until they depart).
  • Safely driving the Principals and their guests to and from destinations, appointments, meetings, secondary residences, airports, and heliports; as directed by the Principals.
  • Coordinate and drive staff personnel, guests as needed, when directed by the Principals.
  • Assisting with luggage and packages, opening doors, heavy lifting, and housekeeping chores.
  • Ensures vehicles are safe, clean, fueled, maintained, and stocked.
    • Maintains interior and exterior cleanliness of the car via hired services at times when convenient for the principle.
    • Maintaining scheduling and delivering cars for maintenance appointments, checking for engine oil inspection, legal registrations, insurance upkeep, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Houston and Austin, Texas. Knowledge of New York and Miami is a plus.
  • Keep vehicle inspections, documentation, and service requirements up to date and filed on internal company systems.
  • Plans each route based on road and traffic conditions.
    • Maps out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip.
    • Uses navigation apps to determine the best route.
  • Listens to traffic and weather reports to stay updated on road conditions.
  • Able to multi-task, think quickly, and respond effectively in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Principle Services

  • You must collaborate closely with Personal Assistants’. Additionally, Contractor: Runner will serve as your backup or provide guidance as necessary.
  • Handling ad-hoc tasks and special requests, running errands, and related duties as needed.
  • Ensure continuous support and hospitality towards Principals' guests at all times, following the guidance and/or approval of the Principals.
  • Errands may be assigned to you by the team to satisfy the needs of the Principals and/or guests (e.g., grocery shopping trips for chefs, deliveries, or returns for personal assistants).
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing assigned tasks as needed.
    • Errand runner for specialty items for the family.
      • Included but not limited to picking up home appliances, pet food, pet appointments, pick up alterations or principal orders, ext.
    • Responsible for deliveries and package, family office pick-ups when not driving principles.   
    • Management of PA assigned tasks on the property or after hours when there is no personal staff present.
      • Including but not limited to
        • Meeting vendors for home repairs, or meetings that require a WOPRT GP employee presents.
        • Management of trash and recycling bins on property.
        • Maintain property maintenance that can easily be done, blowing of leaves/ sticks from driveway and walkways.
  • Handles tips and payments and submits petty cash log and reimbursement logs.

Safety and Security

  • Security liaison, responsible for ongoing enhancement and dissemination of security assessments, conduct research analysis to identify security vulnerabilities and areas of improvement, solve safety procedural deficiencies, and increase efficiency in overall executive protection.
  • Instruct and conduct regular briefings with our staff and contracted security personnel on the latest security processes and procedures to bolster the Principals’ protection.
  • Facilitate safety, travel, and event security with the security team.
  • Will be expected to always have access to monitor surveillance equipment via Company-provided computer and cell phone and do random checks and reports throughout the shift.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, inspecting buildings, and all access points, permitting entry to guests, and ensuring they sign the appropriate waivers.
  • Checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
  • Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informs violators of trespassing; reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
  • Completes incident reports as needed by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.

Required Expectations

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding the family's personal information and activities.
  • Not permitted to ask any family, guest or Principals for autographs or photos.
  • No alcohol consumption while on-call or on-duty workday.
  • Maintains reputation by complying with legal requirements and always displaying a professional demeanor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A polite and professional disposition.
  • Proven experience as a driver.
  • Employee should have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a license to carry a firearm legally in Texas to be considered for this role.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices.
  • Valid passport.
  • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage.
  • Availability to take weekend and night shifts. (Required)
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma-Required to carry a firearm.
  • Security guard training certification preferred.
  • Experience with high-net-worth families preferred.
  • Previous driving-related experience required.
  • Candidates who are English/Spanish bilingual a plus, though this is not required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
  • Must be able to work long hours.
  • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
  • Prolonged periods driving or sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
