Part-Time Personal Assistant/Companion

We are seeking a warm and dependable part-time Personal Assistant and Companion to support a retired international business founder in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate is mature, patient, and engaging—someone who enjoys meaningful one-on-one time, travel, and providing thoughtful support while respecting the independence and dignity of the principal.

The principal and his wife spend time at three of their homes in Nashville, Miami and Canada. They also travel extensively, especially to South Africa, their country of birth, and are seeking a companion that is able to travel to all locations as needed when the primary Companion is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

• Spend quality and engaging time with the principal, discussing various topics, watching rugby, assisting with research, going for meals, and other activities as needed
• Drive him on local outings, errands, or appointments
• Run errands independently such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, returning packages, etc.
• Assist with daily tasks such as dressing, preparing light meals, and tidying up after shared activities
• Provide gentle guidance through cognitive and occupational therapy exercises
• Travel as needed and serve as back-up support to the primary Companion.
• Stay overnight as needed (will be informed of this schedule ahead of time).

Qualifications

• High emotional intelligence with kindness, patience, and strong observational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with a friendly demeanor
• Tech-savvy and comfortable troubleshooting basic devices and apps
• Valid driver’s license, passport, and Global Entry (or willingness to obtain)
• Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally
• Must be comfortable with a salaried W-2 role (no benefits); overnight stays occasionally required
• Must be open to an “as needed” schedule as the schedule will fluctuate.

Location: Primarily Miami (Nov–Mar), Nashville (Apr–Jun), Canada (Jul–Aug). Housing provided in Nashville and Canada.

Compensation: Up to $60,000/yearly

Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours; travel required
