Target Start Dare: February 1, 2025 with a flexibility window of one to two weeks.
About Us: We are a loving, adventurous family with two curious boys, ages 4 and 1.5. We travel
every few months and plan on home/worldschooling for many years to come. Our home is filled
with positivity, laughter, and daily dance parties.
Role Overview: We’re seeking a full-time, energetic, play-based, bilingual (either Spanish or
French) nanny to help our boys learn a second language and guide them overall in their growth.
Nanny
We are looking for someone positive who can both care for our children and contribute to
keeping our home a happy, healthy and organized space. Outside of teaching the boys about
the world, how to behave and how to healthfully process emotions, you’ll also help them
wake/fall asleep occasionally, prepare them healthy food and take them to activities and play
dates (in Puerto Rico in a golf cart!).
There will be time each day when both kids are with their parents and we’d love for you to jump
into cooking basic healthy snacks/meals (if you have no experience cooking, it’s no problem so
long as you have a willingness to learn!), running a load of laundry, tidying up or running an
errand for us. The right person will be self-motivated and have a mindset of looking for ways to
contribute. Dad especially loves keeping the house very clean and organized, hopefully you are
naturally that way too – or can fake it during working hours.
In our home, we don’t operate on fixed schedules except for sleep times, homeschool and
activities (gymnastics, tennis, soccer and swim lessons). Both parents work from home and one of
our main goals is getting high quality time with the boys throughout the day. You're a good fit for
our family if you are highly flexible, naturally roll with the punches and like an environment where
no two days are the same.
Travel is a big component of the job. Y ou have experience landing in foreign locales, don’t get
flustered by travel hiccups and love exploring new places. We’ll ask you to help pack the kids up
as we travel among destinations.
Currently this position is for 40 hours a week Wednesday through Sunday, though there is
flexibility to adjust this schedule. We value working with someone who is flexible and adaptable.
Teacher Whether you are fluent in Spanish or French, we’d love to have you speak only that language
with our kids. Both children can understand Spanish and speak <20 words to date. Y our goal
would be getting them to speak only Spanish back to you.
If you speak French, the kids have had ~10 hours a week of French the past summer and loved it.
We’d start by having you speak French and then, when appropriate, having the kids speak back
to you in French.
Favorite interests for the boys:
? Outdoor adventures– hiking, forest walks, daily bike rides, visiting animals, beach
explorations, scootering at skate parks, scavenger hunts, taking gondolas, trains and
buses, doing ropes courses
? Building– living room forts, cities with blocks/legos/tiles, forest fairy houses, rockets,
monster truck ramps
? Music– playing instruments, singing, dancing
? Swimming– our kids are little fishes and we have access to many pools
? Reading– our oldest son could read for hours every day; never enough books!
? Playing– monster trucks, make believe, digging in dirt, hide ‘n’ go seek
Key Responsibilities:
? Facilitate play-based learning experiences that inspire our childrens’ curiosity
? Help lead the cognitive, social and emotional growth of the boys (we’re all on a team for
this together!)
? Support daily routines, including meal preparation, playtime, clean up, and outdoor
adventures.
? Collaborate with team (parents and additional caregivers) on solutions for developmental
issues that arise in a weekly sync. Here is an example of a past action plan for our one
year old.
? Ability to implement a no-screen time environment (the kids aren’t watching screens and
you’re modeling this by not being on your phone throughout the day) + healthy food
home
? Domestic and international travel with core locations including Puerto Rico (year 1), Austin
(year 2), Chamonix and New Y ork.
Qualifications:
? 2+ years experience as a nanny.
? A passion for play-based learning.
? High energy, creativity, and a positive attitude.
? Hard working, always looking for ways to contribute.
? Experience (and a love for) traveling, ideally internationally.
? Holds a driver’s license
