We are seeking a Private Educator/Family Assistant to provide engaging, structured learning experiences for a family with four young children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, a passion for child development, and the ability to foster a stimulating and enriching environment. In addition to academic support, this role will involve light household assistance, along with direct assistance to support the wife, to ensure the smooth operation of the home. The family values a professional who is nurturing, proactive, and adaptable to their evolving needs.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote the growth and development of each child.
- Provide homework assistance and enrichment in core subjects, ensuring personalized learning experiences.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through hands-on learning, arts, and STEM-based activities.
- Cultivate a love for reading through engaging literacy activities and discussions.
- Prepare and serve nutritious, balanced meals for the children.
- Assist with school pick-ups/drop-offs and extracurricular activities (vehicle provided).
- Maintain an organized, well-stocked learning environment and play areas.
- Help with household organization, including light laundry, tidying common areas, and occasional errands.
- Support the planning and coordination of special family events, activities, and celebrations.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Education, Child Development, or a related field).
- A minimum of two years of experience as an educator, tutor, or in a similar teaching role.
- Reside within a 30-minute commute of Pasadena.
- Passion for early childhood and primary education, with a nurturing, patient, and engaging approach.
- Flexibility to provide occasional weekend support for events such as weddings, date nights, or family celebrations.
- Willingness to travel locally with the family (typically to Palm Desert and Orange County).
- Reliable, flexible, and adaptable to the evolving needs of the family.
- Comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment (the family has 2 dogs).
- Excellent driving record (vehicle provided for job-related tasks).
- Must be able to pass a background check and provide professional references.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7pm (with flexibility as needed, including weekends)
Pay: $80,000-$100,000/yearly + benefits
Location: Pasadena, CA. This is a fully on-site role.
