Butler

Location: Palm Beach, FL (November–May) and Southampton, NY (July–Labor Day)

• Winter: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (when Principals are in residence in Palm Beach)

• Summer: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Southampton; local housing provided)

• Spring/Fall: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (when Principals are away)

A private, discreet household is seeking a polished, service-oriented Butler/Houseman to join their longstanding domestic team. This is a year-round, live-out position supporting daily household operations and formal service. The role requires flexibility, professionalism, and a positive, team-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Formal & Informal Service

• Provide plated and French-style table service for lunch and dinner

• Maintain dining and service areas to impeccable standards

• Assist with kitchen closing duties, including dishwashing, cookware cleanup, trash removal, and floor mopping

Household Support

• Execute daily household checklists, turndown service, and “Daily Graces”

• Maintain service pantries, handle inventory, and assist with provisioning

• Care for plants and flowers according to household standards

• Provide silver care and other light maintenance tasks

• Assist with organizational projects and collaborate with other staff on shared tasks

• Answer phones and relay messages professionally

• Maintain wine inventory and support entertaining as needed

Pet Care

• Provide daily care for one King Charles Spaniel, including feeding, walking, brushing, and occasional vet visits

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a private, formal residence

• Professional, self-starting, and highly reliable

• Discreet, respectful, and trustworthy

• Strong service mindset with the ability to follow established household systems

• Polished demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Tech-comfortable and detail-oriented; able to follow protocols precisely

• Team player with a proactive, calm, and respectful attitude

• Solutions-oriented with a “no task too small” mindset

• Flexible and adaptable to evolving household needs

• Ability to travel and live locally in Southampton during summer (housing provided)

• Legal to work in the U.S.; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Willing to undergo background check, drug screening, and sign an NDA

Compensation & Benefits:

• $100k+ Annually 

• Health insurance reimbursement

• 2 weeks paid vacation, to be taken between May–June or September–October (flexible split allowed)

• 3-5 Sick days (DOE)

• Annual performance-based bonus
