Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant Needed for a Newborn in Orinda

Household:

• A lovely and easy-going family expecting their first child in early July is seeking a full-time nanny/family assistant to start by the end of June.
• Initially, the schedule will be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with mom home for 4 months. Then the schedule may change to 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional later hours with notice.
• Both parents will be on leave for the first few months. When they return to work, mom will work from home and dad will work outside the home.
• The family has a large, playful dog that will be kept separate from the baby, and the nanny will not be responsible for pet care; please be comfortable around dogs.
• The family desires to build a long-term relationship with someone who will grow and stay with them long-term.

Ideal Candidate:

• The family values a calm household and seeks a nurturing and sweet candidate who is experienced, vigilant about safety, and able to work together as a team.
• An experienced nanny with newborn and infant care experience with a thorough understanding of early childhood development and milestones. 
• The ideal candidate is engaging with a strong desire to interact with the baby and promote their development through singing, talking, and play.
• A team player who is able to work collaboratively with the parents, suggesting routines and schedules.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a nice to have, but not required.

Duties: 

• Provide care for the newborn, including feeding, changing, bottle preparation and cleaning, dishes, and laundry. As the baby gets older, going on walks and planning outings to the park, classes, museums, etc. The family has a vehicle to use on the job.
• Light housekeeping duties (the family has a weekly housekeeper), family laundry, unloading the dishwasher, simple meal preparation, and running errands as needed.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of paid, professional childcare experience that occurred over the age of 18 (not for family or friends) with excellent references
• Recent newborn and infant care experience.
• Current or willing to stay current on the Covid, Tdap, flu, and MMR vaccines.
• Valid driver’s license and a strong driving record
• Legal work authorization in the U.S.
• English fluency
