Family Syllabus: An educationally conscious and forward-thinking family of four located in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a highly qualified private educator to support their bright neurodivergent elementary-age daughter. This family has two daughters who attend a private school, and the family is seeking additional support, mostly for their oldest daughter. The youngest daughter will need some support with homework as well. Both parents work from inside and outside the home, and the family likes to travel up to 6 weeks at a time. They have a fully staffed home and two hypoallergenic dogs. These kind parents are looking for a true team player who is high energy, patient, outgoing, and fun but also knows how to read the room and collaborate with the team.

Ideal Candidate: The family’s ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, thoughtful, and has knowledge and experience working with children with ADHD and autism. An educator who encourages indoor and outdoor play comes prepared with educational, fun activities, crafts, and writing activities and enjoys reading to the children would be a welcome addition to their team. They are looking for a confident and experienced educator who has strong teaching skills and curiosity for learning and growing with elementary-age students. The family prefers a candidate with a college degree and an up-to-date teaching credential. Please be a great communicator and organized. A private educator with a can-do attitude and flexibility would be the perfect addition to this family team.

Job Synopsis: The schedule for this position is a guarantee of 40 hours per week, and the teacher needs to be flexible to work mornings, after school, and weekends, depending upon the family’s schedule. Please be prepared to work weekends when the child has the most free time. Be well versed in common core math and be confident teaching language arts. The rate for this role is $100+/hour DOE gross plus overtime, with benefits such as paid time off, holidays, sick days, and a medical stipend. The family also travels for up to 6 weeks, so be passport-ready to go on adventures!  Other duties for this position include carpooling or driving the children to activities or playdates and running errands relating to the children, such as getting supplies for projects relating to their schooling.

Roll Call: This amazing position starts in August for the 2025-2026 school year! 

Qualifications:

Two years of teaching experience with neurodivergent children

CA Teaching Credential

College degree required

CPR/first aid certification

Excellent verifiable references

Passport ready
