Private family in the greater Philadelphia region, (Bryn Mawr) seeks a flexible and experienced Housekeeper / Nanny to join their Domestic Team. This position will entail a five-day workweek inclusive of weekends with two consecutive days off, with flexibility to extend coverage up to 7-9 days for travel and transitions. This position would largely support the housekeeping efforts in concert with their long-time staff, and pitch-in for overnight and weekend coverage as necessary to support the rotational nanny team to maintain seamless coverage of the family's four active children. The ideal candidate will be able to employ simple and family-friendly culinary skills to support their chef in meal service, and able to pitch in with errands / pickups and other ad hoc tasks that arise. This position is open to all candidates with suitable experience, with deference to candidates locally established, having educational experience, and a proven track record of success in similar roles. Relocation / housing assistance can be provided for the right candidate. This position is seeking in the near-term for a hire as soon as possible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the daily care, nurturing, and supervision of the family’s children (aged 3, 5, 7, 8)
  
• Creating and implementing a stimulating and educational environment for the child through reading, games, outdoor adventures, walks & outings, crafts, exercises, and toy use
  
• Willing and able to participate in all activities related to the care and development of the children
  
• Candidate must strive to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment within the home, as well as curating a nurturing and trusting relationship with the children, the family, and fellow colleagues
  
• Housekeeping and laundry services for the children, shared among the team
  
• Light cooking and introducing new foods to the children, shared among the team
  
• Travel with the family to additional residences and on vacations as needed
  
• Additional household responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the principals

Requirements

• Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  
• Minimum 4 years related experience working in a similar role for a private home or family as either a Family Assistant or Personal Assistant
  
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; above and beyond attitude
  
• Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to be flexible as the situation requires
  
• Experience working in fast-paced environments - the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
  
• Able to work both independently and as part of a large domestic team
  
• Knowledgeable of elementary-aged learning milestones, including reading, printing, math, etc.
  
• Candidates who have previously worked with neurodivergent children encouraged to apply
  
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  
• Valid Passport REQUIRED; willing and available to travel with the family both domestic and abroad as needed
