Second Housekeeper — Private Residence

Location: North Hampton, New Hampshire (primary); occasional day support at a secondary property in Portsmouth, NH
Status: Full-time, Live-out | Schedule: Regularly 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., five days per week; some evenings/weekends as required
Start: ASAP
Compensation: $75,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience (additional hours compensated in accordance with applicable law)
Reports to: Household Manager and Head Housekeeper
Works with: Head Housekeeper; on-site Chef
Household: Two adults and a small dog

Role Summary

We seek a meticulous second housekeeper to partner with our Head Housekeeper in maintaining exacting, hotel-calibre standards across a ~6,500 sq ft, three-level home (main living on first and second floors). The ideal professional is discreet, detail-driven, and highly responsive to instruction, with proven expertise caring for special materials and fine finishes.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily & rotational cleaning: Zone- and checklist-based routines; scheduled deep cleans.

• Fine-finish care: Confident, correct methods for specialty stones, woods, lacquer, unlacquered metals, crystal, silver, and art surfaces; protect finishes during vendor visits.

• Kitchens & baths: Pristine presentation; hygienic standards; appliances and fixtures kept showroom-ready.

• Laundry & wardrobe: Hand-washing and pressing/steaming to couture standards; stain treatment; bed and table linens; careful folding and closet organization; basic mending.

• Beds & linens: Hotel-standard bed making and turndown; linen inventories and rotations.

• Household order: Restocking household consumables; parcel receiving/unpacking; trash and recycling procedures.

• Guest & event support: Assist with set-up, discreet service support as directed, and reset/breakdown.

• Pet care (as needed): Dog-friendly; occasional assistance with feeding, letting out, wiping paws, and maintaining dog areas.

• Coordination & reporting: Communicate clearly with Head Housekeeper and Household Manager; use checklists/digital task logs; uphold privacy and security protocols at all times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a private residence, luxury hotel, or yacht with verifiable references.

• Mastery of fine-surface care and high-standard laundry/pressing.

• Meticulous attention to detail; calm, professional demeanor; takes instruction well.

• Fluency in English; clear, courteous communication.

• Physically able to lift and carry up to ~30 lbs, climb stairs across three floors, and stand for extended periods.

• Comfortable around small dogs.

• Valid work authorization in the U.S.

• Willingness to sign a confidentiality/NDA and complete background/reference checks.

Scope Notes

• No routine errands are expected at this time.

• Travel: No regular travel; occasional day support at the Portsmouth property may be requested.

• Uniform: None (neat, professional attire required; house shoe policy as directed).
