Hourly: $35 – 45 per hour
Schedule: 5-day work week (Sunday to Thursday). Sunday to Tuesday morning will be based in the Hamptons, and Tuesday afternoon to Thursday in NYC.
Off Days: Friday & Saturday
Hours: 40 hours guaranteed; must be flexible with start/end times typically 8am - 6pm
Travel: Must be able to travel to the Hamptons during the summer and some support in West Palm Beach, FL.
Overview:
A private couple in New York City is seeking a warm, attentive, and experienced Housekeeper/Cook/Caregiver to support the daily care of an elderly male principal. The ideal candidate will be proactive, discreet, and comfortable wearing multiple hats—helping with cooking, hands-on housekeeping, vendor coordination, and general companionship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full housekeeping: daily cleaning, laundry, ironing, and household organization
- Prepare simple, healthy meals such as baked chicken or fish, steamed vegetables, and fresh salads
- Serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to visiting guests in a polite and professional manner
- Accompany the principal to medical appointments and local errands
- Travel with the principal to the Hamptons during the summer months (housing provided)
- Provide companionship and reminders for medication and routines
- Oversee vendors and service appointments, and liaise with appropriate contacts for household repairs and maintenance (e.g., changing lightbulbs, scheduling handyman services)
- Run household errands such as grocery shopping and pharmacy runs
- Pet care as needed (small dog)
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar role within a private home
- Professional, discreet, and service-oriented with a can-do attitude
- Fluent in English and legal to work in the U.S.
- Excellent references from previous long-term roles
- Valid driver’s license; confident driving in the Hamptons, NY
