Full-Time Year-Round Housekeeper (Thursday–Monday Schedule)
Montauk, NY | Formal Home Experience Required
A private family in Montauk is looking for a dedicated, full-time housekeeper with experience in formal households to help maintain their well-kept home. While the family is largely casual day-to-day, they value meticulous housekeeping, organized home management, and polished meal service—especially when entertaining guests.
This position is 40 hours per week, year-round, with a Thursday–Monday schedule for most of the year. Summer is fast-paced, with frequent guests and entertaining, while the off-season is quieter, requiring someone who can work independently when the house is empty and collaboratively when the family is in residence. Overnight stays required at times during the fall.
Key Requirements:
- Excellent English fluency and communication skills
- Lives within a reasonable drive from Montauk (30 minutes preferred)
- Experience in a formal home/HNW households
- Ability to work independently during quieter months
- Tech-savvy with skills to assist with Sonos, streaming logins, and smart home systems
- Assisting the chef with service, meal preparation, and cleanup
Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & Organization:
- Daily cleaning, laundry, and upkeep of all living spaces
- Seasonal deep cleaning (windows, baseboards, appliances)
- Organizing closets, pantries, and storage areas
- Caring for fine furnishings, antiques, and delicate fabrics
Household Support & Meal Service:
- Serving meals, especially when the family entertains
- Monitoring and restocking household supplies
- Coordinating with service providers (maintenance, landscapers, etc.)
- Assisting with packing/unpacking for travel
- Providing basic tech support (Sonos, streaming logins, smart home systems)
Schedule & Seasonal Expectations:
- Peak Season (May–September): Thursday–Monday schedule, with longer hours as needed when the family is in residence.
- Off-Season (October–April): Monday–Friday schedule, with more flexibility when the house is empty.
- Fall (October–November): Overnight stays required on weeknights (Sunday–Thursday), rotating with other staff when the principal is in residence alone.
- Travel: Occasional short-term travel to Idaho or NYC (2 to 4 weeks annually)—preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $35–$40 per hour DOE
