Southampton family seeks a Sous Chef to work alongside the Executive Chef to prepare, cook & serve meals for the principals, and guests at a busy seasonal property. This position consists of a work schedule primarily from Thursday-Sunday with flexibility for additional days, weekends being the priority. The candidate must be organized and communicative. This position is primarily Memorial Day to Labor Day at their Southampton residence but can lead to more after season with the possibility of additional weekends in the Hamptons or at their NYC residence. • Preparing and cooking meals according to the dietary needs for the family and guests• Cooking for occasional dinner parties for guests and colleagues• Preparing breakfast, lunch & dinner for family daily; with emphasis on healthy, local and fresh ingredients• Sanitizing and cleaning the kitchen after each meal prep and service• Running errands and carrying out special requests as needed• Responsible for grocery shopping and supply procurement• Organizing and maintaining kitchen; ensuring pantry is stocked at all times; maintaining inventories
• Strong command of English language• Excellent references required from previous employers• Minimum 3+ years related experience living and working in-residence for a private family• Flexibility in scheduling with willingness to work long hours, overtime, and overnight as needed• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities• Ability to follow and execute recipes as well as create healthy food options for principals• Willingness to clean kitchen and dining areas while you work and after each meal service• Physically agile; able to navigate residence and exterior with ease• Must be willing to learn; must be able to take direction as well as be a motivated self-starter• Valid Drivers License REQUIRED; with a clean driving record and zero points on license• Valid Passport a plus; willing and available to travel with the family both domestic and abroad as needed• Legally able to work in the United States for any employer
