 Hourly rate equal to an annualized compensation of $100K-$130K, health benefits, 401k, paid time off, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS mileage rate. They may be open candidates seeking a higher compensation rate.

 Full-time with 40 hours guaranteed per week, with the hours falling Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Flexibility to stay later occasionally is required and some domestic and international travel may be needed.

Household:

  • A lovely family in Austin, TX seeks a smart, hands on Household Manager or Family Assistant who can help take care of and oversee an Austin, TX (West Lake Hills) multi-level home and join a great team.
  • This is a live-out position; local candidates only. 
  • The family has a supportive household staff, including full-time nannies, full-time chef, housekeeper, and a family assistant.
  • The family travels regularly and takes frequent trips to their other residences in San Francisco, New York, and other locations; some occasional domestic and international travel may be needed.
  • The principals work from home, requiring a candidate who can maintain a calm and quiet environment.
  • Long-term relationships are valued and they seek a candidate who will grow with them.
  • Their sweet dog is part of the family, so a dog-friendly candidate is essential.


Ideal Candidate:

  • A team-oriented and easy-going candidate who enjoys working with a small but mighty team; experience working alongside other household staff is preferred but not required.
  • The ideal candidate is organized, detail-orientated, and proactive, and will possess proven experience while showing a willingness to learn and adapt to the principals' specific needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with the principals and staff (both on-site and remote staff).
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in using digital tools for communication and organization, and comfortable learning new tools as needed.
  • A discreet and confidential candidate who demonstrates loyalty, dependability, and trustworthiness, respecting the the principals’ needs for privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrates exceptional reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
  • Someone who is comfortable around children and dogs.

 

Duties:

  • Maintain the home's organization, oversee vendors and service providers, and ensure smooth operation.
  • Manage mail, assist with bill paying, coordinate calendars and scheduling with other team members, and maintain household inventory.
  • Supervise renovations and construction projects, perform light tidying (there is a housekeeper for regular cleanings who you will help oversee), and care for principals' cars (fueling, car washes, scheduling maintenance).
  • Conduct research as needed, assist with interior decorating, and provide light plant care.
  • Proactively pitch in with various tasks and events.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of paid, professional experience that occurred over the age of 18 (not for family or friends) as a family assistant, household manager, and/or personal assistant with excellent references.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and a clean driving record.
  • Domestic and international travel as needed and have a current and valid passport and travel documents.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and evening availability. 
  • Current or willing to stay current on the flu vaccine.
  • Legal work authorization in the U.S.
  • Can make at least a one-year commitment.
