General Manager of a Ranch - with Hospitality Background
A private family is looking to hire a full-time General Manager with a Hospitality Background for their vast Bozeman, Montana ranch and estate. This role involves working closely with the Principals and Chief Executives to prioritize the conservation, protection, and improvement of the ranch. The manager will be responsible for overseeing daily activities, maintaining high standards in livestock care, land upkeep, guest services, and staff supervision, all while ensuring safety and consistency. The property features stunning mountains, fertile valleys, and abundant wildlife, along with a 400-head cow/calf operation and a small number of horses. It also offers exceptional hospitality and recreational facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations: livestock, land, fleet, and building upkeep.
- Supervise and train a team, ensuring a productive work environment.
- Manage employee schedules, including seasonal workers.
- Coordinate guest services, ensuring top-quality hospitality and experience.
- Lead financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and inventory.
- Assist with planning and executing events and gatherings.
- Collaborate on capital projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure safety, security, and legal compliance.
- Communicate regularly with the owners about operational needs and strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Ranch or Hospitality Management (or equivalent experience).
- 7-10 years in ranch/property management, with leadership experience.
- Experience with UHNW families or legacy properties preferred.
- Proficient in financial oversight and operational reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high-end, luxury property efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Schedule:
Full-time, with flexibility required (weekends and holidays expected).
