Family Syllabus: An active family of four, soon to be five, in Nevada City is looking for a Nanny to join the team! The family lives on a beautiful property with many nature-filled opportunities just waiting to be explored! Their 2-year-old and 4-year-old boys are active, verbal, and expressive. They love to play together outside in their beautiful surroundings. Their older son is calm, organized, and enjoys playing with Magnatiles. Their younger son is full of curiosity and energy and enjoys playing with his trucks. They both enjoy arts and crafts and would love a nanny to bring fun, creative arts and crafts activities for them to enjoy, while also fostering some independent play as well. The parents work from inside the home and will soon be hiring a family assistant to help care for their household. Please be open to working alongside Grandpa at times, as he is currently living with the family. Their oldest child attends a preschool nearby Monday-Thursday from 8:45 am-3:45 pm. Their newest addition is due in January 2026. This family has an elderly cat, so please be comfortable with feline friends.
Ideal Candidate: This family is seeking a warm and passionate nanny who is also sophisticated and knowledgeable in child development. A nanny who is fun-loving, energetic, and highly organized is a must. The ideal candidate is incredibly flexible and proactive and believes no job is too big or too small. Days will be filled with active play, and engaging activities tailored to each child’s developmental stage. These hands-on parents seek a nanny who is comfortable collaborating with them to set clear expectations and boundaries. Please be confident caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This family practices elimination communication potty training and would love a nanny who is comfortable with this method when their new baby arrives. Both the 2 and 4-year-olds are potty trained, with the 2-year-old just wearing diapers for naps and nighttime. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential, as this family believes in working together as a team to provide the best possible care for their children. While it snows only a few times per winter, the family would like a candidate who is experienced and comfortable driving safely in snow and ice on the rare occasion it is required. If you have previous experience with food intake challenges with children, that would be ideal! A nanny who is open to transitioning into a homeschool educator as the children grow would be a huge plus. A college degree is required for this position.
Job Synopsis: Duties related to this position will include keeping the household stocked and running, food prep, cleaning the children’s play areas, taking care of the children’s laundry, organizing, driving the children to and from school and other activities, and homework help as the children grow. Other duties will include caring for the cat, watering the plants, and other household errands. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm with the flexibility to work date nights, longer days, or possibly 3 long days and 2 shorter days. The rate for this role is $45-50/hour gross with benefits such as paid time off, holidays, sick days, and a medical stipend. A nanny vehicle will be provided while working.
