Live-in Housekeeper/House Manager

Empty nesters in Bedford, NY looking for an experienced Live-in Housekeeper/House Manager.

The Ideal Candidate: will be a highly skilled domestic who has experience working with a family for a long time.  A highly motivated individual who has both Housekeeping and some House Managerial experience. Experienced in full housekeeping, including laundry, extensive ironing, and running errands such as grocery shopping. A valid driver's license is a plus.  

The family has a cleaning service come in 3-4 days/week to do the deep cleaning. The candidate will be in charge of other Housekeeping duties. Must also be able to interact with vendors in the home and must like children.

What Works for the Family: The working hours are from Thursday morning through Monday evening. Days off are Monday evening through Thursday morning. The family travels to Palm Beach and Vermont a few times per year. The candiate will need to be flexible to travel with them to their other homes.

When they are at their primary home in Kentonah, NY the candidate will also need to sometimes cook easy family dinners for the couple and their extended family. 

Responsibilities:

• Full housekeeping duties
• Plain cooking for the family
• Laundry for the family
• Ironing
• Grocery shopping

Requirements:

• Prior experience in domestic work
• Ability to perform tasks with a high level of attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Likes children of all ages, as employers have 10 grandchildren
• Happy and capable to  help out with visiting grandchildren
• Reliable and Flexible
• Capable of making good decisions on their own
• Capable of dealing effectively with Household Vendors
• Capable of learning to operate normal Household systems, e.g. A/C
• Non smoker
• Energetic and in good health

• 5 days - Live-in Early Thursday morning through early Monday evening
• Days off - Tuesday and Wednesday (2 days, 3 nights)
• Primary home: Katonah NY.  1 hour from NYC by Train.
• Must be willing and able to fly to Florida as needed for periods of time....as may be required especially during winter
• Must be willing to go with the family several times a year to their Vermont house as needed
