A private family is seeking a dynamic, experienced Estate Manager to oversee the operations of multiple residences in the Puget Sound area. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, assertive, and hands-on professional who thrives in a varied and active work environment. This role supports two busy entrepreneur parents, three children, a family dog, and a small team of household staff. The Estate Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the household and properties, displaying excellent critical thinking, open and transparent communication, and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations: Manage day-to-day activities to ensure smooth operations of both the primary and vacation homes. Manage maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of cars, RVs, and boats.
Staff & Vendor Management: Oversee housekeeping, landscaping, and home maintenance activities to ensure work is completed to the highest standards. Coordinate and schedule outside vendors for necessary services and repairs.
Household Management: Organize and delegate grocery shopping, household supply inventory, art and gift purchasing, laundry, and light cleaning tasks.
Scheduling: Maintain a comprehensive and dynamic family calendar, including coordinating transportation, nanny schedules, and appointments for personal and property needs.
Administrative Tasks: Take care of filing, mail management, and organizing household projects and staff with established to-do list and reporting protocols.
Requirements
Experience: At least 3-5 years of related experience working for private families in household or estate management.
Skills: High organizational and multitasking ability, superior time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, LLM (such as ChatGPT), Apple Notes & Reminders.
Characteristics: Proactive, flexible, able to handle pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines independently. Must be trustworthy, discreet, and able to professionally interact with various personalities. Must have a hands-on mentality and be a creative problem solver.
Transportation: Must have a reliable car with a clean driving record.
Schedule
Full-time, salaried position, 40-50 hours per week typical. May include some evening or weekend availability for special events and projects.
Work Location
The position is in-person within the Puget Sound area and requires some travel between estates.
