A distinguished Boston-area family is seeking a highly capable and discreet Director of Residences & Lifestyle to oversee their growing residential portfolio and newly established Family Office. This pivotal role bridges high-level strategy with hands-on operations, ensuring that all aspects of property management, personal service, and lifestyle logistics run seamlessly across multiple estates. The principals value longevity and are looking for a caring and respectful person to join their team for the long term. This will be the most vital role in their large and growing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estate Oversight: Serve as the Principals’ primary liaison for all operational matters, ensuring each property is maintained in optimal condition and ready at all times.
  • Project Management: Lead renovations and construction projects—ranging from interior updates to major builds—by managing architects, designers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Staff Leadership: Hire, onboard, train, and supervise a wide array of staff, including household managers, assistants, culinary teams, and service vendors. Oversee schedules, performance reviews, and retention efforts.
  • Security & Safety: Collaborate with external providers to elevate estate security and develop comprehensive safety protocols for people and property.
  • Lifestyle & Travel Coordination: Organize and manage family events, personal travel logistics, and seasonal transitions across residences.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement systems for preventive maintenance, inventory control, budget management, and expense tracking.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Build and maintain trusted vendor relationships, negotiate service agreements, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Technology & Reporting: Leverage software to streamline task tracking, communication, and reporting. Schedule regular check-ins with Principals to relay updates and refine preferences.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 10+ years of experience managing high-end private residences or estates
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, property management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of high-end design, construction processes, and vendor negotiation
  • Technologically fluent—comfortable with Google and Apple platforms and project management tools
  • Exceptional communicator, highly discreet, and deeply service-oriented
  • Collaborative mindset, with a proactive and organized approach to operations
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and protecting client privacy

Additional Details:

  • Work Setup: Boston-based with regular local travel; some remote flexibility
  • Benefits: Includes 20 paid vacation days, 10 holidays, 401(k) with match, health and dental insurance, and annual bonus potential
  • Screening: Finalists must pass background checks, reference verifications, and online assessments
  • Diversity & Inclusion: We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at all levels

This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead a dynamic household infrastructure for a private family with exacting standards and a deep appreciation for excellence. If you’re a poised, strategic thinker with a passion for private service and property management, we invite you to apply.
