A San Francisco family of three is searching for a talented Private Chef who strives for excellence in their craft. This role is perfect for a chef with a diverse background, whether from private households, top-tier restaurants, or both. The ideal candidate brings creativity, versatility, and confidence in cooking a wide range of cuisines, keeping meals exciting, varied, and fun in the kitchen.
The Mrs. follows a vegetable-forward diet, bordering on vegetarian, while Mr. and their toddler enjoy meals that are vegetable-focused with added animal protein. The family has some specific preferences including lactose intolerance, but these are well-documented in systems the chef can easily follow. The right chef will be skilled in adapting to these preferences while still delivering vibrant, flavorful meals. Some of the family’s favorite restaurants are Damian, Sorrel, Cotogna, Mister Jiu’s, and Pearl 6101.

Our client is seeking someone warm, professional, adaptable, and confident in their ability to handle a wide range of cuisines and family preferences.
Key Details:
- Tuesday-Saturday, lunch and dinner, with flexibility as needed.
- Weekdays based in San Francisco, Fridays and weekends in Woodside.
- Lunch is typically served around 12pm and dinner is served at 6:15pm.
- Local Bay Area candidates are preferred or candidates with strong ties to the area.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute diverse weekly menus, ensuring variety and excitement in each meal.
- Prepare a simple, flavorful lunch and a creative, vegetable-forward dinner with multiple components.
- Adhere to the family's documented dietary preferences, while maintaining flexibility and creativity at all times.
- Source high-quality ingredients and maintain strong relationships with local vendors.
- Collaborate with other household staff and communicate effectively with the family, welcoming feedback.
- Be open to cooking for additional family members and friends when requested.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in private homes and/or top-tier restaurants.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain a well-stocked and clean kitchen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the clients and team. Ability to take feedback and direction is critical!
- Technically skilled with a deep appreciation for high-quality ingredients.
- Must be willing to undergo in-depth background and reference checks upon hire. We will need a minimum of three employment references from your most recent employers.
- Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.
- Willing to commute to either San Francisco or Woodside, depending on the day.
- Open to travel if requested in the future.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $170,000++ per year | DOE
