FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF PROPERTIES/PROPERTY MANAGER/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER needed in BARRINGTON, IL 60010
The Director of Properties will support 4 families (all related to each other) in the Barrington area. This person will ensure that the properties (7 total) operate smoothly and anticipates the needs of the 4 families by providing hands-on service in several areas. This person is experienced, professional, organized, and detail oriented.
The Director of Properties will work closely with outside vendors to ensure that all needs are met for all of the properties. This person will also work closely with the Farm Manager.
Location: Will vary: In-person at the homes on the Barrington property, at the family office in Itasca, remote and some travel to the homes in Door County, WI.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Farm Manager
- Oversee, maintain and inspect all designated properties (or hire and manage a local manager)
- Work with owners to schedule necessary workers and vendors--this can include: outside contractors, maintenance services , HVAC, plumbing, electrical, AV, security, exterior vendors (carpentry, siding, roofing, etc.), window cleaning, landscaping, etc.
- Prepare annual budget and report on the financial performance regularly
- Manage on-site staff (contractors and vendors)
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships (ex: landscapers, HVAC, etc.)
- Consolidate records, files and monitor service agreements
- Annual or biannual meeting with owners to review next 6-12 months of anticipated work/projects, preventative maintenance, etc.
- Travel to homes in Door County, WI periodically (Candidate will need to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage)
- Create a Household Manual for each household (with vendors, maintenance needed for each property, etc)
Qualifications and characteristics:
- 10 years of experience in a similar role
- A college degree is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Friendly, discrete, honest, reliable, and responsible
- Must work well both independently as well as in a team atmosphere
- Hard working and detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Able to communicate effectively and work well under a deadline
- Professional but also comfortable in a farm-life environment
Schedule:
Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
*Flexibility with schedule may be needed on occasion
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: To be discussed with Placement Counselor. Salary is dependent on experience/credentials
