A fabulous new opportunity is available with a SW Portland family that needs assistance with daily household work, landscaping, general household maintenance, and preparing daily meals. Must have an eye for cleanliness/polish, extremely responsible, possess the ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. This is a full-time, live-in position with incredible accommodations!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
- Grounds management – Oversee all aspects of landscaping, tree care, and irrigation. Check and maintain settling pond, well and pump regularly. Inventory and purchasing for all grounds care related supplies. Inventory and purchasing for all grounds care related supplies. Utilize sub contractors when needed.
- Facilities Management – Care and daily operation of main house, garages, historic barn and guest house. Oversee all systems including electrical/generator, HVAC, security, plumping, all lighting (museum quality), entertainment and internet. Clean and attend to fireplaces, exterior of house and windows, and hardscapes; garbage and recycling. Coordinate with partner and other co-workers to schedule and meet with vendors and service persons as needed.
- Care for small fleet of luxury automobiles- Schedule maintenance, clean and wax, fueling, DEQ and DMV matters.
- Outdoor sculpture care- Daily cleaning of all exterior fine art. Meet with curator to coordinate moves and special care of sculptures.
- Assist partner indoors with heavy lifting or large projects in the winter.
- Special events- Set up and prepare for special parties and events at property. Coordinate with crews (i.e. lighting, tents, furniture). Provide assistance with parking and greet guests. Bartend and serve as needed.
- Overseeing the cleanliness of the estate.
- Sort and launder sheets, towels, and clothing.
- Collect and process dry cleaning delivery.
- Grocery list: shopping as needed and when covered.
- Laundry- Sort clothes for dry cleaning. Steam and re-hang clothes when needed. Hand wash or soak items.
- Answer phone and door, take messages and process deliveries.
- Greet and accompany vendors and service providers.
- Cook and serve meals as needed.
- Clean kitchen, run dishwasher as needed.
- Act as nanny as needed.
- Travel to assist with other homes as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, training, skills required:
- A minimum of 3 years’ related experience
- Ability to live in the house full-time
- Be responsible, reliable, trustworthy, caring and well presented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be organized, a multi-tasker and detail-oriented
