Chef

Private family seeks an experienced, energetic, and positive full time Private Chef available Wednesday through Sunday or Tuesday through Saturday in Litchfield County, CT. Position is Live-Out or Live-in on premises depending on preferences. Private Chef should be team oriented, work well with children, be experienced in working in a formal home and possess a “can do” attitude.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Procuring the highest quality ingredients 
• Coordinating creative and delicious meals for the family 
• Inventory and stocking pantries and wine cellar
• Managing food and service for private events 
• Sanitizing and cleaning the kitchen after each session
• Managing staff during private events 
• Flower arranging and tablescaping
• Formal table service and service of drinks
• Care of fine china, silver, crystal
• Additional general Private Chef duties upon request

Requirements:

• Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Minimum 3 – 5 + years related experience working in a private residence as a Private Chef
• Culinary Arts degree from an accredited school REQUIRED
• High-end restaurant experience REQUIRED
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Ability to fully manage kitchen cleaning, stocking, serving, maintenance, etc.
• Strong fresh, seasonal and farm-to-table cooking skills
• Polished, poised, discreet and professional in both mindset and manor
• Exceptional hygiene and knowledge of food safety procedures
• Attention to detail and a meticulous cleanliness; exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
• MUST have positive, pleasant, and team-player attitude; strong service-oriented mindset
• Valid Driver’s License; willing and able to drive both in countryside and in urban settings
• Legally able to work in the United States
