The Role:
A lovely family is looking for a long-term (3-5 years) Career Nanny, for their two elementary-age daughters in Brooklyn. The nanny will engage with the children, pick them up from school near Grammercy Park, take them to their activities, plan play dates and other activities to do with them, as the parent’s preference little to no screen time. The children love to help with cooking and baking. The parents appreciate someone who will educate the girls on manners and respect, and to clean up after themselves. The nanny should be caring with the ability to be the authority and discipline per the rules the parents have in place. Someone familiar with European culture is ideal. Native French speaker is a major plus!
Job Title: Full-time Live-out Career Nanny
Reporting to: The Parents
Location: Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, NYC; yearly summer travel to France July & August; occasional days spent in the Sag Harbor area of the Hamptons throughout the year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 12pm-7:30pm; with an additional 3 hours in the evening once a week (usually Thursdays) to allow the parents to enjoy a night out; occasional weekend afternoon for approximately 3 hours; flexibility to adjust hours based on family needs. (Working hours may vary when traveling. For example, when in France, hours may be 9am-6pm.)
Salary: Starting $45 per hour, DOE
Benefits: 10 PTO days (there will be additional days on times they go to the Hamptons without the nanny; and also, when in France, when they go to spend time with other family for 1-2 weeks, the nanny can stay in their villa or opt to travel within Europe if they would like to explore), sick days, federal holidays; potential medical stipend for the right candidate
The Family: Mom and dad, 8-year-old girl, and 5-year-old girl
The Staff: Cleaning service that goes weekly to do the deep cleaning of the home; and a French-speaking tutor that helps the girls with their homework daily from 6pm-7pm (the girls’ school is part in French, so if the nanny hired is a native French speaker and is willing to help the girls with their school work, that would be a major bonus and they would no longer need the French tutor)

Nanny/After-School Care
- Foster the children’s educational, social, and creative development by organizing activities and minimizing screen time
- Teach manners, etiquette, and social skills
Cleaning & Laundry & Organization
- Ensuring the house is tidy and maintained neat, including keeping areas safe
- The family would appreciate someone open to making the beds upon arriving for the day; and doing the family’s laundry
Cooking
- Prepare meals for the children, and possible light meal prep for the entire family
- Occasional cooking: they have a heavy seafood-focused diet; ideal if the nanny can at least follow recipes (although the father does most of the cooking)
Family Support
- Errand running for the family – to include, groceries, dry cleaner drop offs, package returns, etc.
- Packing and unpacking for the children, for travel
Supporting the Household
- Assisting with ad hoc projects around the home as needed – e.g. home decorations for the holidays
- Overseeing suppliers, contractors and various appointments as needed, providing updates to the principals as needed
Preferred Qualities
- Drivers’ license (for when in the Hamptons and in France, but NOT required)
- Preference for someone with flexibility to work overtime on some weekends to support very occasional parties/gatherings at their house
Requirements
- Legally able to work within the United States
- Must have a valid U.S. Passport
- Must be able to travel with the family to France for the Summers
- Must be able to travel occasional days with the family to the Hamptons throughout the year
- Must be a confident swimmer and must be confident to be in the ocean, as they have an ocean front villa in France
- Lives in the surrounding area/ have a reasonable commute to Williamsburg, Brooklyn
- 3-5 years working in a similar role
- Must be COVID vaccinated
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified
- Excellent references required from previous employers
- Happy to have a background check run (criminal & driver)
- Happy to sign a confidentiality agreement and non-disclosure agreement before starting work with the family
