PRIVATE CHEF FOR ESTATE, BEVERLY HILLS, CA (90210)
A well-established, formal, luxury lifestyle private estate in Beverly Hills is seeking a Private Chef to join their household staff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef to plan, cook, and serve meals from basic daily requirements to small dinner parties and family celebrations. Chef must also possess the ability to do table setting design/decor to create a 5-star service atmosphere.
This full-time role requires total teamwork and mutual support. The schedule will be flexible, and days off will vary, as the Private Chef will provide coverage for both the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef on their respective days off. The role requires out-of-state travel from mid-June to mid-August, as well as the flexibility to work on holidays when needed. The role is based in Beverly Hills, CA. Local candidates only, relocation will not be offered.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in the preparation of breakfasts, lunches, snacks, dinners, and private events for family and guests
- Accountability for day-to-day culinary operations, preparing all meals and snacks, when Executive Chef is off duty
- Organize, clean, and maintain pantry and inventory of all food items for the household
- Shop for groceries with a focus on locally sourced, farm to table produce, poultry, meat, and other items
- Baking skills required
- Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients
- Standardize recipes and plate presentations
- Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
- Plan, prepare, and serve staff lunches
Chef Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years related experience working as a Private Chef with a keen understanding of 5-star level service
- Flexibility with scheduling; ability to work both overtime and weekends as needed with the understanding that scheduling needs may change on a regular basis
- Commitment to working with fresh, whole foods
- Passion for food and a variety of cooking techniques
- Possess exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership skills, and be extremely detail oriented
- Proven ability to communicate concisely and professionally in email, text, phone, and in-person conversations
- Possess polished, calm, and highly discreet characteristics
- Driver's license with clean record required
- Strong references required
- Local to the Beverly Hills or Los Angeles area highly preferred
- Some post high school education - preferably in hospitality and culinary arts is a plus
- Must be able to legally work within the United States
- Covid vaccination may be required
Location: Beverly Hills, CA with seasonal travel June-August
Contract Length: Full-time
Schedule: A flexible schedule is required to cover Executive Chef and Sous Chef days off, to travel and work holidays as required
Salary: $150-175 (DOE) and benefits package
