An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and experienced all-rounder Houseman/Driver with a profound love for dogs, ready to establish a lasting commitment. You will be entrusted with the smooth operation and care of the principal's residence in Mayfair, London as well as driving duties when required.
You will possess extensive knowledge of driving protocols and vehicle maintenance. The candidate will primarily be responsible for maintaining the property, general tasks in and around the property, driving the principal around London and dog care. The principal is away frequently and therefore it is important that you are reliable and trustworthy.
Candidates for this role should embody a professional and well-defined approach, coupled with qualities such as discretion, reliability, and loyalty. It is essential that you are attentive, well-presented, and possess a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a pro-active manner and be able to work independently. The candidate should have a proven track record of maintaining high standards, exhibiting experience, dedication, and motivation. Flexibility in work approach, coupled with a helpful and hands-on "can-do" attitude, will contribute to success in this role.
This role is open to live-in or live-out candidates. Flexibility in terms of working hours throughout the year will be required, on average they would be 40 - 45 per week, over 5 days, with two consecutive days off. However, when the principal is in residence (approximately 6 months in total throughout the year) the post-holder will be required to work longer hours and be flexible. When the Principal is away, the working hours will be significantly less. Occasional travel may also be required from time to time.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Drive the principal, wider family, guests and visitors
- Keep the cars clean and assist in their maintenance, ensuring they are in a serviceable condition
- Manage the Cleaner on a day-to-day basis to keep the house clean and tidy throughout the day
- Ensure the property is always secure
- Work alongside maintenance, identifying and reporting on works and repairs needed within the residence and faulty equipment
- Support the coordination and planning of home maintenance
- Liaise with any contractors
- Walking the dog (once per day)
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- A full, clean, valid UK driving license
- A confident driver
- Longevity in previous roles
- Excellent English with good and effective communication skills
- The ability to adapt approach to suit different situations
- Effective administration skills with some experience in administrative tasks
- Prior experience of working in a private household, along with a background in a security remit eg. Military, police, personal protection
- Excellent written references
