Description
Private New York City famiy seeks an experienced and efficient Seasonal Housekeeper to assist in the daily cleaning, care, and service of their Southampton, summer property from June – September. This position is live-out and consists of a 5-day workweek. The schedule is Tuesday – Saturday 1pm-9pm. In the event there are dinners or evening events, you may be asked to stay later. Service experience is a must, as this role includes dinner and drink service.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and upkeep of the residence
- Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.)
- Completing the family’s laundry including washing and ironing clothes
- Superior organization skills and willingness to go above and beyond in all aspects of the job
- Polished, poised, and professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times
- Maintaining residence for guest readiness at all times
- Additional Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family
- Perform formal dinner service
- Assist with parties and events, serving drinks as requested
Requirements
- Strong command of English language; outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a private home
- Valid Driver’s License is REQUIRED, confident driver with a clean driving record
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
- Thorough knowledge of deep household cleaning, laundry, organization, fine arts, and antiques
- Polished, poised, and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional hours as needed
- Experience with food service a must
- Legally able to work in the United States
