We are representing a high profile Menlo Park Household Seeking a Private Cook. You will report to the Executive Chef and are responsible for assisting other chefs in all aspects of food preparation within a private household. You will receive proper training including making breakfast, basic food chopping, ingredient measuring, cleaning, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring food safety standards are met, all while providing exceptional service to the homeowner and their guests.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Food preparation:
  • Washing, peeling, cut vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as directed.
  • Measuring ingredients accurately for recipes.
  • Assisting with basic cooking tasks like sautéing, grilling, or boiling.
  • Preparing simple side dishes and desserts.
  • Portioning and plating meals according to presentation standards.
  • Helping with reheating and plating foods
  • Kitchen maintenance:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
  • Washing dishes and pots and pans by hand or using a dishwasher.
  • Maintaining proper food storage practices, sealing open foods, labeling and rotating stock.
  • Taking inventory of kitchen and cleaning supplies and informing the chef when items need restocking.
  • Organizational tasks:
  • Receiving and unpacking groceries, storing items appropriately.
  • Organizing the kitchen workspace and keeping it clean, sanitized and tidy.
  • Assisting with meal planning and prepping ingredients in advance.
  • Customer service:
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the homeowner and guests.
  • Anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests.
  • Adhering to dietary restrictions and special requests.

Required skills:

  • Basic culinary skills, including knife handling and food safety practices.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and dietary needs.
  • Must be willing to travel to AZ + 2 weeks a quarter to NY.
