Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00am–7:00pm with 4-hour midday break, some weekend shifts for special events and entertaining, flexibility required especially when traveling
Location: Charleston, SC (Live-Out) + Travel (4–5 months/year in California, seasonal time on a working biodynamic farm in SC)

Position Overview:
A health-conscious and work-from-home family of three seeks an experienced Private Chef to prepare simple, elegant, organic meals with a seasonal and farm-to-table focus. The ideal candidate values ingredient integrity, cleanliness, and thoughtful meal planning tailored to the family’s lifestyle and tastes.
This is a full-time, long-term role for someone who thrives in a low-drama, high-standards environment, appreciates farm-to-table and slow food philosophies, and is excited to work closely with a biodynamic farm operation.
Core Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation & Planning
- Prepare all daily meals and snacks for the family and occasional guests
- Leave prepped staples and fridge items for days off
- Plan weekly menus that reflect seasonal availability and dietary needs (gluten-free, dairy-free, toddler-friendly)
- Plate and clean up after meals, set and bus table as needed
Sourcing & Inventory
- Source premium, organic, seasonal ingredients—locally whenever possible
- Maintain relationships with farms, markets, and specialty purveyors
- Manage weekly shopping, inventory rotation, and pantry/fridge cleanliness
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a pristine kitchen—organized, hygienic, and fully stocked
- Care for high-quality tools, cookware, and appliances
- Ensure all food safety, allergen-prevention, and health standards are met
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years as a Private Chef OR Executive Chef experience with strong references and a desire to transition into private service
- Experience managing a solo kitchen and creating family-style menus
- Familiarity with gluten-free, dairy-free, and whole food nutrition
Culinary Style:
- Californian, Mediterranean, Italian, French, Vietnamese, or healthy American comfort cuisine
- Ingredient-driven cooking that is clean, nourishing, and visually refined
Personal Qualities:
- Honest, discreet, and highly organized
- Able to work independently without daily oversight
- Professional and calm, with a can-do attitude
- Comfortable cooking for both adults and young children
- Willing to travel and adapt to seasonal living (Charleston, CA, and farm stays)
Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $45–$60/hr depending on experience plus PTO and healthcare stipend
