Housekeeper / Laundress Needed in Mount Kisco, NY

A professional couple with a toddler (and a baby due in late Spring) in Mount Kisco, NY is looking for a highly experienced, detail-oriented live-out Housekeeper / Laundress for long-term employment. Candidates must have experience working in large homes with fine art, delicate surfaces and antique furnishings and also must be comfortable with children and cats.
Duties include:
Housekeeping
The couple is looking for meticulous cleaning of their large historic home including knowledge of the proper care of delicate/old surfaces (hardwood floors, wood paneling, oriental carpets, marble, delicate fabric curtains and upholstery, light fixtures, antique furniture, etc.)
Daily cleaning and upkeep of the home, making beds, changing bed linens weekly, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, deep cleaning high traffic areas, dusting, steaming, mopping, vacuuming and sweeping floors, loading and unloading the dishwasher, hand washing delicate items, washing windows, keeping supplies and closets organized, ordering and restocking all cleaning supplies, toiletries, and household items. Bringing in mail and packages.
Laundry
Washing and drying according to cleaning instructions, folding, putting away all family and household laundry, maintaining organization of all closets and drawers, ironing, using a sheet press for bedding, keeping linens organized and clean, knowledge of how to care for special fabrics – silks, wools, etc.
Cooking / Meals
Preparation of simple breakfast (ex., eggs and avocado toast) for principals
Preparation of simple lunches for principals (ex. Salad and/or sandwich)
Setting table for dinner
Misc.
Greeting guests as needed
Accepting / signing for deliveries
Requirements
- Five years minimum experience, including in large formal homes
- Be able to communicate well in English and have a desire to be a team-player in a coordinated, well-run household
- Be comfortable and friendly around small children
- Be comfortable with cats – the family has two well-mannered hypoallergenic cats
- Be comfortable working with and around other staff, including nannies, au pairs, contractors, workmen, staff for events, dinners, etc.
- The ability to take constructive feedback and follow a cleaning schedule, while allowing for flexibility when needed
- Ability to use iPad (will be provided) to check off tasks completed and keep up with real-time adjustments/requests from principals, refer to detailed digital house manual, and order supplies
- Wear uniform at all times (will be provided)
- Be able to handle climbing multiple flights of stairs and walking long distances in 12k sq. ft. home
- Must have reliable car to get to and from work
- Willingness to fill-in with watching the children for short intervals when necessary is a huge plus
Compensation
- $30-$40 per hour (DOE), paid federal holidays, 5 paid sick days per year, 5 paid vacation days per year
- Eligible for quarterly bonus depending on performance
- Extra hours will occasionally be available for special event staffing, weekend coverage, etc.
- Schedule may allow for some pre-planned flexibility for the right person
