For our clients we are looking for a couple as from 40 years old, who will live, work and live on a private estate (300 hectares). The couple will take care of the entire housekeeping of the castle, the garden and the park. The estate with castle (from 1300) is located in the province of Utrecht. Our client is one family that has lived on the estate for several generations.
The couple will live in the staff house located next to the castle. It is a beautiful house, with a view of the forecourt, three bedrooms, a spacious living room, a cozy kitchen and a nice west-facing terrace, with enough privacy. There is central heating and a large fireplace. It is not a very modern house, but it is in good condition. A private car can be parked in a private carport and there is an additional garage that can be closed securely for the storage of private goods.
The reason for the vacancy:
It is to replace a couple that has worked for the family for years. They have accepted a position elsewhere.
What are we looking for?
There are different roles for the couple during the day.
In the morning:
The couple works together in the morning to do housework in the castle. Tasks include: keeping the house clean in all aspects, polishing silver and copper. Waxing the floors (there is a polishing machine), washing windows and doing the laundry and ironing.
In the afternoon:
One person from the couple also works as a housekeeper in the castle in the afternoon.
The other person works in the garden and park in the afternoon. In addition, one of the tasks is maintaining the swimming pool. Work is carried out in the garden and park in collaboration with the full-time gardener.
To cook:
The clients would (very) like cooking three evenings during the week between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The clients will do the shopping themselves. The person who cooks is also supposed to set the table, serve and clear the table.
The estate:
The estate is partly accessible to the public and partly leased.
Working hours:
Our clients want the couple to be employed full-time. Any part-time wishes are negotiable. Working hours are determined in consultation and are in principle from Monday to Friday. Our clients will occasionally ask if we can work during the weekend. These hours will be compensated with time off. Our clients would like to be driven occasionally. A driver's license is (therefore) necessary.
Other information:
Bringing children is negotiable.
The estate is a serene environment. The couple lives and works in the middle of nature and must be aware of this.
The nearest village is 3.5 km.
The orangery is located next to the staff house. A now retired couple lives on the other side of the orangery.
The clients have a sweet dog. If the couple would like to take care of this occasionally, it would be greatly appreciated.
The couple must really love animals and dogs.
Working conditions:
The working conditions can best be described as 'formal' and in a certain way also 'traditional', but with respect for each other.
The couple to be recruited must understand this collaboration well.
Keywords are:
Reliability, discretion, well-mannered, a good sense of proportion and a service-oriented attitude.
The couple preferably speaks Dutch or English.
We also look for flexibility, proactivity, own initiative and a positive and cheerful attitude to life.
In addition, an independent working attitude is expected and the couple has good communication skills.
My clients have expressed the express wish to collaborate in a respectful and pleasant manner.
Which profiles are we looking for:
We are looking for a couple with a stable relationship. The couple must fit into this setting and be experienced in keeping a (very) large house clean.
One person in the couple should preferably be technically skilled and enjoy working in the garden and park.
One person in the couple must have a knack for cooking, but it doesn't have to be three-star Michelin level.
The couple must also be in good health and fit. the nature of the work.
Our clients are in principle open to a married couple and all other combinations, provided they are demonstrably stable.
At least two references will be requested per candidate.
Other information:
- The date of commencement of employment is preferably as soon as possible. The staff house is available.
- The clients have a long-term focus
- The couple will largely have to find their own way, in consultation with the family; The couple must be able and willing to do that
- The clients are experienced with in-house staff
- The clients and the estate will remain anonymous for the time being
Employment conditions:
The couple will both receive an official contract under Dutch law.
The salary indication is €2.500, - gross per month, which is €2,270,- net per person per month.
The rent for the staff accommodation is 18% of one of the gross salaries.
Gas, electricity and water will be borne by the couple and will be discussed at a later stage.
