Job Title: Executive Protection Specialist

Overview:
Our client, located in Upland, CA, is seeking a reliable, flexible, and professional Executive Protection Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the family’s residence, particularly during nighttime hours when the family is away. You will also provide security during special events and must be available for travel as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of professionalism, a commanding presence, and the physical capabilities necessary to effectively deter potential threats. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks is essential, as is the ability to adapt to the family’s dynamic schedule and needs.
Schedule:
- Flexible hours from dusk to dawn, typically from 7pm to 6am, with potential adjustments based on the time of year
- 3-4 days per week, with fluctuating schedules based on the family’s calendar
- Flexibility is required for potential domestic and international travel, as well as coverage during special events
Responsibilities:
- Manage access control for the residence, ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access
- Patrol the premises regularly, both indoors and outdoors, to identify any suspicious activities or security concerns
- Monitor and maintain surveillance systems, responding immediately to alarms or disturbances
- Provide rapid response to security incidents, including potential threats, disturbances, and medical emergencies
- Ensure the safety of family members, guests, and staff by maintaining a vigilant and highly visible presence
- Communicate clearly and professionally with principals, fellow employees, and law enforcement agencies as necessary
- Accurately document security incidents, patrol activities, and any required reports
- Assess and recommend improvements to current security protocols and physical barriers to enhance protection
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in law enforcement or military service is REQUIRED
- Must hold a valid concealed carry permit and have extensive firearms training
- Previous K-9 training a PLUS
- Willingness to have a security-trained K-9 accompany you during shifts and reside at your home during off-duty hours is a PLUS. This is not a dealbreaker!
- CPR/First Aid/EMT certification is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Professional demeanor, including a commanding and authoritative presence that deters potential threats
- The client seeks a candidate interested in a long-term commitment to be part of the team for years to come
- Must be local to the Los Angeles area or willing to relocate
- Must be authorized to work legally in the United States
- Willingness and ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed
- Clean background check, including criminal and driving history
- Comprehensive reference check
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must possess the physical strength and endurance necessary to perform the duties of an Executive Protection Specialist. This includes the ability to:
- Stand for extended periods
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as running, lifting, and restraining individuals if required
- Respond quickly to emergencies in a variety of environments
- Move swiftly through large properties, including up and down stairs
- Due to the nature of the role, candidates must maintain a high level of fitness and possess the physical stature to effectively deter and manage potential security threats
Compensation and Benefits:
- $175,000 annually
