Compensation: $35/hour plus overtime, health benefits, 401k option, paid time off, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS mileage rate. The family may be open to a higher compensation rate depending on education and experience.

Schedule: Guaranteed 80 hours every 2 weeks, 10-12 hours days, likely between 8:00am to 6:00 pm. Sharing the 7-day schedule with another nanny. Flexibility to stay later occasionally and domestic and international travel is required.

  • A lovely family in Austin, TX (West Lake Hills) seeks a full-time nanny for their 1.5-year-old child. The candidate will share a 7-day schedule with the other full-time nanny.
  • The child attends preschool during the day and enjoys activities like building with legos, reading, and playtime at home.
  • The family has a supportive household staff, including another full-time nanny, full-time chef, part-time housekeeper, and family assistant.
  • The family travels regularly and takes frequent trips to their other residences in San Francisco, New York, and other locations.
  • Both parents work from home in their multi-level home, requiring a nanny who can maintain a calm and quiet environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate is kind, patient, fun-loving, easy-going, and engaging, with the ability to encourage independent and joint play.
  • A team-oriented nanny who enjoys working with a small but mighty team; experience working alongside other household staff and collaborating with another nanny is a plus but not required.
  • Someone who possesses long-term experience working with infants and toddlers, with an interest in staying up-to-date on child development and best practices.
  • A candidate with a heart for caring for children, who is excited to engage the child in new activities, and is passionate about activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth is needed.

  • Demonstrates exceptional reliability, dependability, and flexibility, ensuring consistent care while accommodating changing schedules and needs.

  • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required.

Duties:

  • Child-related duties including organizing toys and play areas, child's laundry and dishes, travel preparation and packing, maintaining inventory of child's items (diapers, wipes, etc.), occasional simple nutritious meals for the child, and light housekeeping and organizing (the family has a regular housekeeper).
  • Feeding and bathing, bedtime routine as needed, assisting with potty training, engaging play including music, reading, and building, researching enriching activities and outings, and school drop off and pick-up.
  • Light pet care: feeding and taking the dog out occasionally
  • Engaging activities with the child: going on walks and to the park, outings and classes, and encouraging learning and development through play-based activities.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of paid, professional experience working with children that occurred over the age of 18 (not for family or friends) with excellent references.
  • Education/child development background preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and a clean driving record.
  • Domestic and international travel as needed and have a current and valid passport and travel documents.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including weekend and nighttime availability. 
  • Covid vaccinated and current or willing to stay current on the flu vaccine.
  • Legal work authorization in the U.S.
  • Can make at least a one-year commitment.
