Looking for a LOCAL seasoned personal chef in East Hampton, NY - weekends preferred, but eager to speak with anyone local who has interest.
Preference is for chefs who have attended/graduated from culinary school, have worked in restaurants for some period of their cooking career and have prior experience serving as a personal, family chef. Must be able to run your kitchen with confidence while being kind to staff and respectful of the principals.
No food allergies or dietary concerns, but the family infrequently entertains kosher guests.
Family has a farm-to-table sensibility and enjoys rustic yet refined preparations. No tweezer-tortured plating - they appreciate providing family and guests with an abundance of food offered as a buffet - with only occasional plating of desserts. Strong baking skills and the ability/sensibilty to cook from scratch are required.
Must be a non-smoker.
Ability to multitask and an eye for detail with respect to plating equally as valuable as culinary expertise.
Strong time-management skills a must.
Quiet, calm demeanor required.
Chef is expected to manage storage, organization, stocking and cleaning of his/her kitchen.
