Description

A warm and welcoming family relocating from Pittsburgh to Ellicott City is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time nanny/house manager to join their household and provide nurturing, developmentally focused care for their 2-year-old son. This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional caregiver who thrives in a structured, collaborative environment and is excited to grow with a family planning to expand in the near future.

Location: Ellicott City, MD
Child: 2-year-old boy
Start Date: June 2025
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (some flexibility for the right fit), 35-40 hours/ week guarunteed
Compensation: $30–$35/hour, based on experience
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation (nanny chooses one week), 5 paid sick days, paid major federal holidays, and a healthcare stipend if needed
Live-Out: This is a live-out role.

Household Dynamic:
The family’s 2-year-old is easygoing, loves reading, trucks, and playing outdoors. He is currently in diapers and takes a 2-hour midday nap. Starting in June, he will attend school from 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (with plans to extend to a full day in the fall). Mom works full-time out of the home, and Dad will have a hybrid work schedule. The family does not have pets and avoids pork, preferring vegetarian (halal) meals around their child.

They are seeking a nanny who is caring, dependable, and passionate about working with children, especially someone who enjoys outdoor play, has a gentle yet confident approach to boundaries, and is proactive in daily routines and household support. A Montessori background is appreciated (but not required), and a love for learning, creativity, and developmental engagement is essential. The family speaks Urdu/Hindi and English.

Ideal Candidate:
The right fit for this role will be nurturing, flexible, and highly organized. A background in early childhood education or familiarity with developmental play is a bonus. Someone who can gently guide the child outside his comfort zone, manage transitions with care, and support the family as they grow will thrive in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, engaging care for the child in the afternoons and evenings

  • Plan educational, age-appropriate activities (minimal to no screen time)

  • Support nap transitions and gentle potty training when developmentally appropriate

  • School pick-up and driving to outings as needed (car required; gas reimbursed)

  • Prepare child’s lunch and assist with light family dinner prep

  • Tidy kitchen, clean dishes, manage grocery deliveries, and household inventory

  • Family laundry and organizing child’s seasonal clothing

  • Run occasional errands and assist with unboxing/deliveries

  • Rare weekend or travel support appreciated but not required

Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • 3+ years of professional nanny experience

  • Infant and toddler experience preferred

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle

  • Comfortable with light cooking and supporting household tasks

  • Warm, dependable, proactive, and flexible

This is a truly special role for a nanny seeking a long-term opportunity to make a meaningful impact. If you’re thoughtful, energetic, and love helping children grow, we’d love to hear from you!
