UWS Full-Time Role (Indian Cuisine Preferred)

Role:

  • 3 generation household: grandparents, parents, and 2 small children (1 & 2 yo), will increase to 3 families in a few months with a total of 6 adults and 6 children
  • Upper West Side, looking for full-time chef 5 days a week M-F and sometimes T-S
  • Breakfast for 2 adults, lunch for 3 adults, 3 kids, dinner 5 adults, 3 kids
  • Have nannies for all the kids that will help with meals
  • Prefers Chef that is either willing to learn quickly or already knows Indian cuisine, and sometimes changes it up to Mexican or Italian
  • Chef responsibilities that they desire: manages stocking the fridge, grocery shopping, online ordering, clean up post meal, and making sure the grandparents palates are pleased
  • Small gatherings once a month with 10 ppl
  • Open to the possibility of travelling (mostly locally - like the Hamptons, and very rarely London)

Character Sketch:

Our ideal candidate has an impressive breadth of repertoire. We're looking for a confident professional who can adapt and collaborate effectively individually. Experience preparing components ahead of time and finishing at the client's home. 3 years of private and 5 years of high-end (Michelin) restaurant experience is preferred.

  • Prepare and present high-quality meals in person that showcase your culinary skills and attention to detail, appealing presentation, and adherence to proper food safety practices.
  • Select and procure the finest ingredients, ensuring freshness, quality, and sustainability. Develop relationships with local suppliers and vendors to maintain a reliable network of resources.
  • Accommodate dietary preferences and special requests while maintaining the highest standards of taste and presentation. 
  • Great communication habits

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in high-end (Michelin) restaurants and cooking for private clients, showcasing a deep understanding of diverse cuisines, high-quality ingredients, and innovative culinary techniques.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to design unique and innovative dishes.
  • Adaptability to accommodate changing menus, dietary restrictions, and client preferences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, household staff, and other team members. 
  • A clear passion for excellence in your craft.
  • A professional demeanor with high integrity and discretion when working with high-profile clients and maintaining confidentiality.
  • A degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant certifications, extensive experience, and a proven track record of excellence in culinary roles are highly valued.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
