SUMMARY:

New York based private family seeks a hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy live-in/live-out housekeeper with limited childcare experience with at least 5 years or more of experience working with an UHNW family. The successful candidate will have, among other characteristics, excellent cleanliness standards, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills are important as are flexibility, honesty, reliability. This is an hourly position with a minimum of 40-50 hours per week including weekends and some holidays. The Housekeeper will report to, and work closely with, the Executive Housekeeper and Leadership Team as well as directly with the Principals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily cleaning, dusting, mopping, polishing, and washing.
  • Laundry and ironing and/or sending out dry cleaning.
  • Some light cooking and serving.
  • Running errands.
  • Assisting with flower arrangements.
  • Receiving packages and maintaining a delivery log.
  • Answering the house phone.
  • Greeting family and guests upon arrival.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment when responsible for the children.
  • Support family routine, as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience working as a housekeeper for a high-profile employer always ensuring 5-star service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and their application/use on museum quality furniture and various surfaces.
  • Knowledge of caring for fine garments: handwashing, ironing, stain removal and steam-pressing.
  • Able to prepare simple meals.
  • Planning and organizational skills for closets, cabinets, and other storage spaces.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Ability to travel preferred.
