Position: House Manager
Location: Naperville, IL
Employment Type: Part-Time (28 hours per week)
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (Monday - Thursday 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
Compensation: $25-$35/hr
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented house manager to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of a private residence. While weekly professional housekeeping services handle deep cleaning, this role is responsible for daily maintenance, organization, and light cleaning to ensure the home remains in excellent condition at all times.
This position requires a proactive, self-sufficient individual who can manage household logistics, maintain cleanliness, coordinate vendors, and assist with family needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning and upkeep
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the home between weekly professional cleanings
- perform daily light cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and tidying common areas
- ensure the kitchen remains clean, including loading and unloading the dishwasher and wiping down counters
- keep bathrooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- oversee laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens
- change and launder bed linens and towels as needed
household organization and supplies
- keep household spaces clutter-free and functional
- track household inventory, ensuring cleaning supplies, toiletries, and pantry essentials are stocked and order out if stock items
- handle mail and package organization, returns, and household errands
meal preparation and grocery shopping
- plan and prepare healthy weeknight dinners for the household
- shop for fresh ingredients and groceries, ensuring a well-stocked kitchen
vendor coordination and household oversight
- manage and oversee weekly housekeeping services to ensure high cleaning standards
- schedule and coordinate household vendors, including maintenance workers, landscapers, and service providers
- conduct routine walkthroughs to identify areas needing maintenance or attention and coordinate necessary repairs
family logistics and support
- assist in organizing and planning family activities, outings, and special events
- coordinate research and bookings for travel, accommodations, and experiences
- manage household schedules and logistics as needed
Requirements:
- experience in household management, private estate management, or luxury hospitality
- strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- ability to work independently and proactively manage household needs
- professional, discreet, and excellent at communication and problem-solving
- comfortable collaborating with vendors, service providers, and family members
- tech-savvy, with the ability to manage household schedules and vendors using digital tools
- experience in meal planning and cooking healthy, balanced meals
- must be lgbtq+ friendly
- must be comfortable with dogs – household has a goldendoodle
Schedule and Expectations:
- part-time role, 28 hours per week to start
- Sunday through Thursday schedule
- monday through thursday: 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
- sunday: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
- flexibility to adjust for occasional evening or weekend events as needed
- must be reliable, punctual, and adaptable
