Title: Ranch Manager
Position: Full Time Salaried with Benefits (Salary Commensurate with Experience).
Reporting to: Estate Manager & Property Owners
A luxury private estate in Western North Carolina is seeking a full-time live-in Ranch Manager.
The Estate is 160-acres with 8 horses and 12+ buildings. The principals live on-site seasonally and host several high-end events throughout the season. The Ranch Manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of these events, working with the Estate Manager and overseeing the work of the Ranch staff. All employees and events are held to a 5-Star Standard. The Ranch Manager in coordination with the Estate Manager, is responsible for training and maintaining these standards across all Ranch facilities and employees throughout the year.
Candidate should have 4+ years of management experience managing a team of 6 or more people. The current team is composed of full-time and part-time employees in the facilities and barn teams. Effective leadership is necessary to delegate tasks across all departments to meet the needs of the principals and maintain the Ranch.
Applicant should have 5+ years of professional horse training and lessoning experience, ideally with a combination of groundwork, riding, and driving. All horses have been started and have gone through a training program to meet the needs of the Ranch. This is based on the values of natural horsemanship. Some horses are used as riding horses, and this position requires the ability to regularly ride and exercise the horses/ oversee the exercise of the horses.

Position Requirements:
-Strong leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills.
-Experience working and training at a 5-star Standard
-Experience managing 6 or more employees.
-Background in natural horsemanship.
-Familiarity with budgetary bookkeeping.
-Computer familiarity with Google and Office suites.
-Experience maintaining precise records, overseeing budgets, managing staffing and vendor calendars, and reporting weekly/monthly expenses.
-Valid Drivers’ License
-Willingness to be “on call” during off hours for urgent issues.
Job duties are outlined below, including but not limited to:
-On-call for all emergencies
-Weekly reporting of all Ranch projects and updates to Estate Manager.
-Hiring and Termination of Ranch personnel, as needed
-Oversight of training program of all new staff in barn and facilities departments
-Onboarding of new staff and proper filing of new hire paperwork
-Task delegation for larger projects
-Employee conflict resolution
-Yearly budget development and budget oversight throughout the year for proper spending
-Management of barn staff to ensure proper training and care of horses
-Provides oversight of full-time barn team for training issues and health issues of the horses
-Responsible for communication regarding the Ranch, equine program (health, and training) with Principals and Estate Manager
-Scheduling of staff for adequate daily and event coverage at the Ranch
-Main contact for Ranch vendors and responsible for keeping up to date with contractor insurance policies to report to Chief Business Officer
-Upholding and enforcing all policies and procedures
