Job Description:

Lovely Upper East Side family seeks a gentle, loving, and patient Baby Nurse to provide 24/ hour care for their newborn child. The child is due early March and the family is looking for someone who can commit 3 months. This position primarily consists of living in with 2 days off every 10 days with their time split between the city and the Hamptons. The ideal candidate must have experience with sleep training and overall infant development. In addition, the candidate will be active and nurturing with the ability to follow the family’s instructions. Private accommodations will be provided when living in.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the daily care, nurturing, and supervision of the family’s newborn child
  • Ability to interacting with the older sibling as needed
  • Assisting with establishing and then maintaining the child’s sleep/napping, feeding, and bed-time schedules
  • Candidate must strive to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment within the home, as well as curating a nurturing and trusting relationship with the child and the family
  • Additional Baby Nurse duties and responsibilities as required and requested by the family

Requirements:

  • Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with premature babies is a plus
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • 4-year degree from an accredited College or University a plus
  • Knowledge of both First Aid and CPR REQUIRED
  • Minimum 5 – 10+ years of related full-time experience working in a private home in a similar role
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities with prioritization and efficiency
  • Positive, friendly, and professional in both mindset and manor: use of utmost discretion at all times
  • Comfortable and willing to work in a home with pets; the family has 2 dogs’
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in schedule with the willingness to work long hours as needed
  • Valid Driver’s License a strong plus; a confident driver with zero points on record
  • Legally able to work in the United States for any employer
