Position Overview
We are seeking a warm, proactive, and highly experienced Private Nanny to provide exceptional care for an energetic and inquisitive 2-year-old boy. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in early childhood development, outstanding communication skills, and the flexibility to support a dynamic family lifestyle, including occasional travel.
During the summer months, the role will expand to include attentive and engaging care for a 6-year-old girl, who will be home from school. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic about planning and leading age-appropriate, educational, creative, and physically engaging activities for both children.
This position goes beyond traditional caregiving. It requires a dedicated professional who can create a safe, loving, and intellectually stimulating environment while offering structure and positive guidance tailored to each child’s developmental stage. The ideal candidate will have a warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor.
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional nanny experience, preferably with toddlers.
- Degree or certification in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Excellent references from previous families or employers.
- Ability to maintain discretion and protect the family’s privacy at all times.
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
Position Duties & Key Success Factors
Childcare & Development
- Provide nurturing, attentive care with daily educational and creative activities that support developmental milestones and emotional growth.
Daily Routine Management
- Maintain consistent schedules for meals, naps, and hygiene. Prepare nutritious meals/snacks. Manage dressing, diapering, and potty training as needed.
Household Coordination
- Keep child-related areas tidy, assist with light housekeeping, and coordinate with parents and staff to ensure smooth routines. Monitor and communicate restocking needs (diapers, wipes, educational materials, etc.).
Travel Readiness
- Accompany the family on trips, adapting routines to maintain the child’s comfort and consistency.
Health & Safety
- Ensure constant supervision, safe driving, and use of family-approved devices. Provide daily updates on the child’s activities, behavior, and progress.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and communicate any health concerns promptly.
Discipline & Behavioral Guidance
- Follow family-approved, positive discipline methods. Reinforce respectful, gentle behavior through consistency and encouragement.
Safety & Communication
- Warm, patient, creative, organized, and aligned with the family’s values and communication style.
- Maintain constant supervision during all activities, especially outings.
