A Texas-based family in Fort Davis is seeking a full-time Nanny Manager to become an integral part of their close-knit household and the lives of their four fun-loving children, aged 9, 7, 6, and 4. This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with children, thriving in a family environment, and eager to explore the Texas frontier. The selected candidate will enjoy living in a beautifully renovated private casita on the family’s sprawling ranch.
The Nanny Manager will be a creative, forward-thinking educator who fosters curiosity and encourages early learning through engaging and educational experiences. This role involves utilizing both indoor and outdoor spaces for play and learning, encouraging exploration, and ensuring the children remain active and healthy. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the family to guide daily routines, instill good manners, and cultivate a loving, respectful environment. Responsibilities also include keeping play areas tidy and teaching the children to clean up after themselves.
With two full-time working parents, this position is crucial for keeping the children engaged and occupied with meaningful activities during the workday. The Nanny Manager will manage sports and activity calendars, stay informed of community events, and ensure the children’s schedules are filled with enriching experiences. During the school year, the Nanny Manager will assist with morning routines, prepare the children for school, transport them to and from school, and help with after-school activities, homework, dinner, and bedtime routines. Essentially, the Nanny Manager will act as a co-parent, supporting the family in day-to-day operations. During school holidays, vacations, and summer months, the Nanny Manager will plan activities and create schedules that foster both play and learning, helping the children develop their sports and life skills.
A typical day might involve preparing the children for school, tidying personal spaces, playing outdoor games, exploring the ranch, engaging in artistic activities, and helping with evening routines. The work hours are full-time, Monday through Friday, with a schedule that shifts between the school year and summer. During the school year, the Nanny Manager will work a split shift from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and then from 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with a break in between. In the summer, the workday is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility. Benefits include private housing, food and utilities in common areas, a vehicle for professional use, 15 days of paid time off, and the opportunity to travel with the family to new destinations.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, enjoys the outdoors, and has a flair for sports and physical activity. Adaptability and a love for spontaneous travel are essential, along with emotional maturity, creativity, and the ability to discipline and guide the children with confidence. This role is perfect for someone with high emotional intelligence, a proactive approach, and a collaborative spirit. The family consists of two entrepreneurial parents originally from Dallas who value their children's emotional and physical well-being. They are family-oriented and love spending time outdoors, providing a positive, integrity-driven work environment.
The family’s ranch is located in Fort Davis, Texas, the highest city in the state, offering mild summers and a beautiful natural environment. The Nanny Manager will have access to the larger Big Bend region during their time off and may also travel with the family to other destinations. The family has two dogs and chickens and is ideally seeking a candidate who does not have pets of their own. This is a unique opportunity for a nurturing, adventurous individual excited to make a lasting impact on the lives of four bright, active children while living on a beautiful ranch and exploring the wonders of West Texas.
