Our client, a warm and welcoming family in Hoboken, NJ, is seeking a reliable, energetic, and organized Nanny/Housekeeper to provide exceptional care for their three wonderful children and assist with household tasks and meal preparation. The family is also expecting a newborn and needs someone experienced and comfortable caring for infants. This is a unique opportunity to become a valued part of a supportive household.

Responsibilities

Childcare:

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for three children (ages to be determined by the family) on a consistent basis
  • Once the newborn arrives, provide comprehensive care, including feeding, diapering, nap routines, and fostering developmental milestones
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual development
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for the children
  • Transport children to and from activities, appointments, or school as needed (a valid driver's license and clean driving record are preferred)
  • Collaborate with parents on routines, discipline, and any specific needs of the children

 

Household Management:

  • Perform general housecleaning duties, including tidying up, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and bathroom cleaning
  • Manage all aspects of the family's laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes
  • Plan and execute grocery shopping, ensuring the household is well-stocked with necessary items
  • Prepare healthy and delicious meals and snacks for the children and for the family
  • Maintain an organized and efficient household

 

Flexibility:

  • Work a schedule that accommodates the family's needs, which may include some flexibility on weekends
  • Understand that the children alternate homes on a bi-weekly basis between their mother and father, and adjust the level of childcare and household duties accordingly
  • Care for the family's friendly dog, which may include walks or feeding

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a nanny and housekeeper, with excellent references
  • Significant experience caring for infants is essential
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Comfortable and experienced caring for multiple children of varying ages
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine love for children and a patient, nurturing demeanor
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Comfortable working in a home with a dog
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
  • French/Italian speaker is a plus
