Job Title:  Butler/Cook

 Overview: This position will oversee the successful operation of the primary residence with oversight of other properties.  The right candidate will supervise household staff, maintain excellent communication between family, staff and vendors, and set up systems and reporting to sustain the fine level of service the principals have grown to enjoy.  The ability to work independently as well as with a team, a “hands on” approach is required.  Diplomacy and graciousness are critical as this position represents the family to the public.  The right candidate understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required and can effectively manage the team to this end

Location: Main residence in Scottsdale, AZ

 Schedule: Monday through Friday but flexible to work on weekends and non-standard hours, as needed, for travel, entertainment and to meet project deadlines.

Duties:

  • Manage household staff maintaining the high standards of the principals
  • Maintain household calendars, scheduling household services and providing prior notification to principals
  • Research, authorize and maintain approved vendor list
  • Demonstrate an understanding of complex physical house systems including HVAC, electronic security, and “smart home” systems like Crestron
  • Interface with executive office staff
  • Oversee domestic staff (gardener, housekeeper) managing completion of their regular duties
  • Work with existing staff to assess if there is additional training or coaching needed to maintain the level of service standards required
  • Assist with ight housekeeping and laundry
  • Closet organization and seasonal rotation and shoe care
  • Preparing principals for travel including packing and unpacking; valet-level care of men’s clothing
  • Run household errands
  • Weekly grocery shopping, pantry management
  • Assist with event planning and entertaining
  • Knowledgeable of proper table service for formal and semi-formal occasions
  • Ability to travel

 Skills required:

  • Preference will be given to formally trained candidates
  • Past experience working in high end homes, long-term employment
  • Managed multiple staff members with good track record of long-term employment of team
  • Background in managing construction projects, pools, irrigation, vegetable gardens, flower gardens, water features, HVAC, AV, lighting, plumbing, other household systems, power back-up and more
  • Superb command of the English language, both written and oral and adept understanding of computer and cell phone technology for communication with principals.
  • Bi-lingual: English / Spanish is a plus
  • Organized and quick paced
  • Tremendous attention to detail
  • Self –starter/Self-motivated but with ability to take direction from principal
  • College degree is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Non-smoker
  • Able to work legally in the United States
  • Background check and drug test will be required
