The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all cleaning and interior maintenance of the Principals’ Santa Barbara properties. They are a self-starter with a can-do attitude who takes initiative and has a passion for organization and cleanliness. The Executive Housekeeper must have a keen eye for detail, be reliable, and service oriented. This position reports to the Butler.

Duties and Responsibilities

The employee's duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employer, family members, guests and properties.
  • Responsible for performing daily housekeeping, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the residence to the highest standards of service, ensuring that the property is always prepared for Principals and their guests.
  • Support the Principals and the Estate Manager as requested.
  • Maintain Principals’ wardrobes including diligent care of all clothing.
  • Perform all laundry related tasks, including personal items, pressing of all linens and managing dry cleaning.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and condition of residences, identifying and reporting any damage, necessary repairs or other concerns/issues to the Estate Manager.
  • Maintain and manage house supplies and inventories, communicating to Estate Manager the need for replenishment.
  • Perform seasonal deep cleaning and detailing projects assigned by Estate Manager
  • Create and maintain simple floral arrangements as needed.
  • Assist with occasional outdoor cleaning.
  • Work with Estate Manager on events and special projects as needed, including overseeing vendors as requested.
  • Assist with guests’ care during their stay.
  • Run errands as requested; transport items between properties.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail and dedication to responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge and skills working with fine furnishings, delicate fabrics and finishes
  • Ability to work independently, to problem solve and to be flexible
  • Able to work well in a team environment and have a very positive attitude

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5 – 7+ years’ related experience working as a Housekeeper / Executive Housekeeper in an estate residence
  • Must possess valid Driver’s License and maintain a satisfactory CA DMV record
  • Must have personal vehicle
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Successfully complete an in-depth background investigation, including a cyber/social media risk evaluation
  • Practice the utmost professional discretion
    Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, squat, crouch, bend and crawl
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required load (approximately 30 lbs)
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in both large and confined spaces
  • Must be able to make a long-term commitment

Work Hours & Expectations

  • Monday–Friday schedule with optional overtime for private events and special gatherings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $45/hr - $55/hr Depends on Experience (DOE)
