Family Syllabus:  A private family of five seeks an experienced Household/Estate Manager to oversee comprehensive domestic operations. This role requires a proactive and highly motivated individual capable of efficiently managing multiple properties and staff. The family, with three young children, requires a dynamic professional to integrate seamlessly into their team. Primary responsibilities will focus on their Northern California residences, with occasional collaboration with out-of-state property teammates. Given the presence of beloved feline companions, prior experience in pet-friendly households is a critical requirement.

 

Ideal Candidate: The family is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Household Manager who can command respect and effectively lead their established domestic staff. This is a demanding role requiring a seasoned professional capable of managing multiple properties and diverse responsibilities with clear written and verbal communication skills. They welcome applications from candidates with a proven track record in high-end, fully staffed residences.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, coupled with advanced technological proficiency. They must be adept at overseeing and coordinating a team, including laundresses, housekeepers, chefs, and at times the nanny team, while fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment. This individual will be responsible for the full spectrum of household management, encompassing:

  • Staff Leadership and HR: Managing the HR aspects for the domestic staff and nanny team, including scheduling, supply procurement, and addressing any personnel needs.

  • Property Oversight: Comprehensive management of multiple properties in the Bay Area.  This includes vendor management, maintenance scheduling, and supply procurement for all locations.

  • Vendor Coordination: Proactively scheduling and overseeing all maintenance and repairs, particularly during the family’s absences, to minimize disruption. This includes managing relationships with various service providers such as tree trimmers, painters, and window washers.

  • Technology Management: Proficiently configuring and maintaining smart home technologies, including Sonos systems, Apple TVs, baby monitors, Ketra lighting, Notion systems, and security gates.

  • Logistics and Procurement: Ensuring all properties are fully stocked and efficiently maintained.

  • Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipating and addressing household needs with efficiency and discretion.

  • Pets: The family is fortunate to have experienced and self-sufficient cat sitters, however, they wish to ensure any additional support staff possess a similar understanding and respect for their pets. Prior experience in homes with animals is required, demonstrating comfort and proficiency in animal care.

A college degree is mandatory, and a clean, reliable vehicle is essential. While they prefer a local candidate, they are open to considering exceptional individuals willing to relocate. The successful candidate will be a team player, readily willing to assist wherever needed, and consistently demonstrate kindness and respect towards all staff members. Their experience will enable them to earn the respect of the existing staff and command their duties with confidence.

Job Synopsis: This position is for an experienced and dedicated Executive Household Manager who can provide comprehensive support for a prominent family’s multiple residences. The ideal candidate will excel at managing household staff, coordinating vendor services, overseeing property and vehicle maintenance, arranging complex travel itineraries, managing schedules, and executing high-profile events. Exceptional communication, discretion, and the ability to respond to time-sensitive requests are paramount. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 8 am until 6 pm with flexibility for events and occasional weekend help. This role is paying $200k+ DOE and is offering paid vacation, sick days, and holidays, full medical and a 401k package.

COVID Requirements:  This family is requesting a household manager who is up to date on their vaccines and open to taking influenza and Covid tests as needed.

Qualifications:

At least five years of household managing experience

College Degree

CPR/first aid certification
